Hi ALL:

Unfortunately most people do not have time to create well-documented
templates as was proposed there:
http://groups.google.com/group/myLifeOrganized/browse_thread/thread/6fff0d26870cb791

What if you just publish your *current* ToDo list without documenting
it as template?

Of course some time needed to remove the confidential information from
the list. However I think it is worth doing since it is very useful
for everyone to exchange ideas and see how people organize their
lives.

I might even think of prizes (free 2.0 upgrades?) for the top 5
winners I select :-)

So go ahead and send me examples of your data files. I will publish
them on the site with or without mentioning of your name.

Thoughts?

Andrey.

I think this is a good idea. I always wanted to post a template but
have not yet found the time to delete all of my tasks, etc. from my
existing outline in order to post it.

I would also very much like to get additional ideas from others on how
to improve my outline.

It will take me some time to sanitize my outline but I will contact
you offline and send you my list.

Josh

Me too. Is there a simple XML editor where I see the entire tree of
objects, and then could easily delete multiple sub branches?

I think this is great. I don't use MLO on a mobile device, so the vast
majority of the discussions don't really apply to me. But I do get
enormous benefit from the idea exchange of how to best manage
particular life situations. Reviewing the templates has been helpful,
but the real world always throws curve balls that no template can
capture.

I have added an action to prepare a version of my file for
posting. . . .

I use Notepad ++( http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm ).
It handles just about any text based file and features syntax
highlighting and
code folding.

A few people already sent me their data file. Thanks for your time!

To more encourage people to send examples of their data files I might
think of giving (initial) access to the list only to those who sent a
file.

A few additional notes:
1) if you have custom views created in version 1.9.9-beta please
include the temp file where they are stored for now: *.ml.mflt
2) if you do not want your name to be published please state this
clearly in your e-mail and I remove your name
3) if you want to include a short description to your data file please
clearly separate it in your e-mail so that I publish only the text you
want me to publish

Thanks!
Andrey.
