Are solutions given here to users generally made available in the
Knowledge Base? If not, why not? Is it a lack of knowledge of how to
do it? A feeling that doing that isn't worth the time? Something else?
What changes to the KB would make you more likely to contribute, or
contribute more often?

Wouldn't that be Mozilla's decision as to what goes into it?

I give up. What's the answer?

Cheers,

Mozilla doesn't currently run the Knowledge Base, so no it wouldn't.
Is this the impression you have - that the content is determined by
whoever's in charge and so contributions are not welcome?

My impression is someone at some point either assumes, or is assigned,
the responsibility of compiling a list of queries and solutions to sort them
into a form for quick reference. It may be drawn from a variety of sources.
The database doesn't happen all by itself. It's probable that contributions
may not be welcome as opposed to are not welcome.
At some point, the occurance of problems will diminish and so will their
frequency of being reported. I will say this in favour of Firefox: it's an
excellent tool for proofing website design issues. Still, I know of one
website that uses Power Point slides for web pages. It doesn't work very
well even with Internet Explorer.

John

Thank you for the clarification.
