The Mobicents team is glad to announce that Mobicents Gateway 1.0.0.BETA1 is now available for download.

Release Notes:
This is the first release of Mobicents Gateway. Mobicents Gateway is platform which allows to serve service to SS7 network over variety of transport mediums.
The 1.0.0.BETA1 is based on Mobicents SS7 1.0.0.BETA1 and Mobicents JSLEE 2.5.0.FINAL. For detailed information regarding Gateway components please check respective
release notes:

The Mobicents Gateway is preconfigured to provide users with out of the box experience. Please read README.TXT for detailed instructions.



What is included in this release:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* JBoss AS 5.1.0.GA
 
 with JAIN SLEE 1.1 Container installed (in /jboss-5.1.0.GA
 
)
* Mobicents SS7 1.0.0.BETA10 (in /extra/mobicents-ss7)
* Resource adaptors: HTTP Client, HTTP Servlet, MAP, SIP complaint with JAIN SLEE1.1 specs
* Simple DROOLs based example
* SS7 Simulator

* Mobicents SS7 requires JDK7 on Linux for M3UA transport.

Congratulations Team!

To be precise the Gateway is capable of connecting to SS7 Network over T1/E1 links or M3UA and forward the SS7 MAP messages (specifically USSD for BETA1 and next release's will include SMS, LMS too) to 3rd party applications over IP (HTTP/SIP configured by user)

Congrats to all involved.

Regarding the name, not only it is ambiguos, it also will never be
well ranked in search engines. SS7 Gateway or a crappy pointless name
that nobody ever (or almost ever) used would be better.
