Every time I log in there is the Windows Update icon waiting for me to
install new updates. Once I install the updates it pops back up again. I
don't understand why Windows Updates has updates constantly while I'm online.
This started a few months ago.
Can someone tell me the solution?

Thanks!

Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista SP1)? What update keeps being
re-offered?

I have Windows Vista Home Premium SP1.

The "Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2
(KB936181)" Publish date is always the same too, it's 8/14/2007 keeps being
offered.

Hi,
Thank you so much for sending me this information, but I'm don't understand
what I need to do to resolve the issue. I read the KB but I'm not proficient
when it comes to this type of thing.

Can you give me steps I need to take to get this resolved without me having
to interpret what the KB is saying?

Thanks!

You're welcome. Sorry, but I can't offer you such detailed support
here...but Microsoft can and does:

Start a free Windows Update support incident request:
https://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?gprid=6527

Support for Windows Update:
http://support.microsoft.com/gp/wusupport

For home users, no-charge support is available by calling 1-866-PCSAFETY in
the United States and in Canada or by contacting your local Microsoft
subsidiary. There is no-charge for support calls that are associated with
security updates. When you call, clearly state that your problem is related
to a Security Update and cite the update's KB number (i.e., KB936181).

For more information about how to contact your local Microsoft subsidiary
for security update support issues, visit the International Support Web
site: http://support.microsoft.com/common/international.aspx

For enterprise customers, support for security updates is available through
your usual support contacts.
