Hi,

I am using Windows 2003 and Exchange 2003. I have recently been asked
to incorporate a list of 2000+ users/e-mails from a csv file so that
our internal users can use select the names from the address book. It
is likely that this list will be update on a monthly basis, therefore
I need to be able to remove entries and re-populate with the new list.

Is the best method for doing this via the Csvde utility?
Do the users have to become a part of Active Directory?
Can I create them into a separate list which can be accessible via
internal users accessing the address book and selecting a "External
Contacts" from the drop-down list rather than using the "Global
Address list"

I would be grateful if anyone can give me a few pointers as to whether
I am heading in the right direction to accomplish this.

Thanks in advance

You can import them as mail-enabled contacts, no need for creating new
Active Directory Users.
You can them create Views to display them on the address book as you want.

correct headings for the csvde update it has worked as reuired.

Thanks again.

I created an OU for a separate group of contacts. I exported the contacts to
a CSV file. I would like to import them into that OU so that we would be
able to send emails to. How would I import them as mail-enabled contacts and
not Active Directory Users? What would I need to do to the CSV file? Please
help. I would appreciate all the help I could get.
