While the frame is very ridgid, the whole thing still shakes when doing things like a tight infill.  This in turn shakes the  table that my MM is sitting on and everything on the table.

I am thinking of bolting a nice heavy piece of MDF (maybe 3/4" or more) with some thick rubber gaskets to the bottom of the printer to absorb the vibration.  I'm not too concerned with mobility of the printer, perhaps I'll bolt some handles to the MDF as well.

Has anyone done something like this? Any practical advice before I start?

Thanks!

MIsha,
Even if you put it on a heavy piece of MDF. My guess is it will still shake ( imho :( )
The resonance forces want to go somewhere. they are going to take the path of least resistance.

My suggestion is Tie the table down. or relocate to another solid surface. Also, invest in some Shock pads. their dirt cheap.
and can be found most anywhere. then put on a solid surface.  example would be a piece of rubber say 3/4 thick and 2"x2" mounted/glued to the bottom of your frame. then place it on the floor and run... whale no more shaking. then place it on a shaky table the shaking will come back. something has to absorb all those forces.

I hope this helps!

I printed these feet and put rubber cushions on them and it greatly reduced the shaking to the table.

Something like http://www.mcmaster.com/#9540K32  should work nicely.
