Your choice,  there is nothing is class rules about windexs.

I purchased a 95 Jn-18 last weekend, but the Windex was broken off. Do
I need the Dinghy size, the 10 inch or the 15 inch?

Then I would guess the bigger the better, (the bigger sizes easier to see in all conditions, right?) and thus I should go with the 15 inch. Any thoughts?

thanks

I didn't measure mine but it's about a foot long.
If you have any questions about the boat,  I would try to answer them.  I have been sailing a J18 since 1999.  Where are you located.  I live in Tucson now and there is very little sailing in this area.

Bill - good to hear from you. 178 prevailed for the second year as overall winner in "A" fleet at Kona Sailing Club.

Jack-  welcome to the group. I'd recommend the 10" v. the 15"  as the Davis version of the  device is a bit delicate and a bit of a bother when dropping the mast. Also there is a set screw in the "composite" fitting that the upright shaft fits into. If overtightened,  it will crack, allowing the windex to  turn off center, rendering it useless. A bit of locktite helps.

Aloha,

Steve

Thanks very much.

What a cool little boat. So many slick innovations. I just love it...and I haven't sailed it yet.

I live on Grand Lake of the Cherokees in Northeastern Oklahoma.

I have rigged it all up...on land...and then launched and recovered all sails while on the boat...and the next quest is the new kite launching bag...how to rig it.

thanks again

Thanks, Steve.

Is the a better solution than the "davis" version?

All the best.

I have seen various, but the Davis is what i've used for many years and like the wind read on it.. vey subjective and they all work.
