you should also add prayers for fast days. i dont know if ashkenazim
or sefardim add prayers, but edut hamizrach sepharadim add tachanunim
and read a special section of the torah

The siddur also spells it Edut, but shouldn't the spelling be Edot
Hamizrach? Google both spellings and you will see that there are 2,610
"Edot Hamizrach, VS 49 "Edut Hamizrach". Also see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edot_HaMizrach

> edut hamizrach

It is plural for edah (congragation - Edot=congragations, and not
witness). Why would it be Edut?

I changed it to Edot HaMizrach, should be in v 2.0

Can I request please, to hide control buttons from buttom of the
screen in Tfilah mode? There are couple of reasons behind it:
- it frees a lot of space in horizontal view
- it is very confusing for people who are not familiar with iPhone
when they mistakenly click on other buttons during scrolling - they're
in the middle of saying Bircat Hamazon or Shmone Esre and they don't
know what happened. (I opten give my iPhone siddur to other people
because I have a backup siddur in my wallet, but it's only Ashkenaz so
it doesn't fit to everyone, also it helps a lot in the dark places).

Thank you very much!

Can you put adjustments for Daylight Saving Time on your list?

The new location manager handles this, so no need to enter this
information in.

It's not working properly. I just checked the candle-lighting time
for November 7. It is listed as 6:08, which is based on daylight
savings time. It should be 5:08, since after the last Sat. night in
October we go off DST and return to Standard time.

You do not have 2.0. You have 1.8. 2.0 was submitted to Apple on
Sunday and should be available hopefully soon, as an update.

Yarzeit calendar? It would be great if we could add dates for yarzeit.

Second the motions for:
Smart ArI,
English version (on same page optionally as in Tehillim) especially
for Nusach Ari (Chabad probably does more outreach to novices than
anyone else),
Also:Luach personal entres automtically updated each year and
integrated with Apple Calendar app..
Integrate Luach Jewish Holidays with Apple Calendar app as perpetual
Jewish calendar.

Lower priority:
Blow the shofar during Elul at the end of Shachris.
Setting on smart Siddurim for davening with/without Minyan.
Make smart Ari full Tachanun appearance (or not) consistent with
Chabad special historic anniversaries as well as Mondays and Thursdays
and standard dates..
Variable speed automatic scrolling option.
Special color for standing prayers.

Even lower priority but neat feature consistent with iPhone/ipod
capabilities.; Integrate optional buttons to trigger a famous
tranditional chazzan's rendition of major prayers at appropriate
points when davening alone.

Suggestion: Get haskama (approbation) from a leading Rabbi associated
with each Nusach.

I second the idea for autoscrolling...

Smart siddur for ari will be coming eventually, but I may work out a
deal with Kehot, so I dont want to do anything with that now...

No English is planned anytime soon.

Luach cannot be integrated with Apple Calendar, I am sorry - Apple
does not allow it.

I dont think Ill add auto-scroll anytime soon.

Thanks for all your suggestions!

Hi,
One very important feature i'd very much like to see, and i'm sure a
lot of other people would enjoy it as well.
If you already give the zmanim issue in siddur, let us see jewish
dates,... then the most important issue to add is to let us define
user jewish dates, such as Yahrtseit, anniversaries,... which are
obviously based on jewish date. You could also make them appear in
ical.
Thanks.

Hi again,
Something quite bothering, in the edoth hamizrah nussah, you write the
G-d's name as the ashkenaz nussah. This is totally wrong!
The edoth hamizrah nussah write the full name (4 letters, with the Ad'
name within the last Hey letter).
Please correct this asap, this is very bothering.
Thanks.

Hi again, probably last for tonight in Jerusalem :)

Even though it's a feature request page, I'd like to take this
occasion to thank you very much for your wonderful work with Siddur.
Honestly, $10 isn't much for what it gives.
Of course, don't rise the price, now...:)
Thanks again.

Joel,

(1) Cannot import dates from the app to iCal. I am sorry. We will
hopefully work on building in Yahrtseit and anniversaries in the
future, but no ETA for that right now.

(2) Ugh, not sure how to fix that quickly. It is the first time I
heard that. Let me see what I can do. But it might not be in 2.2.

(3) Thanks! Won't raise the price any time soon. We are not doing
this to make money.

Bob,

Not sure if we can. Unless I change it to a selector, (Big, Medium,
Small) but that is less flexible.

Hi Barry,

(1) i meant to export to ical, not to import from ical :)
In fact i also bought pocket luach, just for this reason. However, it
seems the current version don't has this option :(

(2) well, i don't know how you couldn't hear about it, if you just
open any edot hamizrah siddur, you will see it immediately. To my
knowledge there is not single edot hamizrah siddur where you won't see
it the way it mentioned before :)
thanks.

About Bob's comment, i totally agree with him, you don't see the
result of moving the font size slide. So, you need to play round with
it, but every time you must switch between the prefs and the siddur
app, this is quite crazy imho :)

Barry Schwartz

(1) Again, Apple does not allow any of that. I am sorry.

(2) I'll try, really.

(3) Bob's comment. Hopefully you get it perfect once and you don't
change it? We can change it, but it removes the flexibility...

Joel

(1) thanks. but at least you'll handle your own data base and let us
define jewish dates for repeating events (yahrtseit,...)? is there
some eta for this, it is really important.

(2) thanks a lot.

(3) Maybe just below the slide, you could put some text which would
reflect the change, so we can have some feeling how it would look
like?

Thanks.

Barry Schwartz

(1) It requires us giving you access to modify the data. That is a
lot more work on both the user interface side and backend coding
side... So no ETA yet.

(2) Done now, will be in 2.2 but we did a find and replace. I hope
it did not replace things that should not have been replaced. I guess
you will let me know if it does.

(3) We made the navigation controls have the ability of being font
size controls also. This should work for you when you want to set
your font. Then you can go back and make them navigation controls.
Will be live in 2.2.

(1) i see.

(2) thanks a lot. when do you think the 2.2 will be available?

thanks again,

shabbat shalom.

We are waiting on getting the revised Minyan database, as soon as we
get it (typically within 24 hours) we can post it to Apple.

Apple typically takes about a week to approve updates.
