Location- Place, Altitude, GPS-Pune

Habitat- Garden/ Urban/ Wild/ Type-I do not know garden/wild

Plant Habit- Tree/ Shrub/ Climber/ Herb-  herb

Height/Length- hardly 5 cms tall there were many such plants near each other each with a single flower at the tip

Leaves Type/ Shape/ Size-green

Flowers Size/ Colour/ Calyx/ Bracts- yellow  with 4 petals about 2cms across

Fruits Type/ Shape/ Size Seeds-Not seen

This is Synedrella vialis (Less.) Gray

its a small prostrate herb, while Synedrella nodiflora (L.) Gaertn. is a erect herb.

@Dineshji Thank you for providing the link of the pics you photographed. I wanted very much to see the centre of these lovely flowers. and it was possible becuase the pics photographed by you. It is really very pretty one cannot se it with the naked eye

Here is the key to differentiate the two genera (Based of Flora of Taiwan and Flora of North America)

Synedrella

Synedrella: Plants annual, erect or ascending, not rooting at nodes; heads aggregated; disc florets 4-12; cypsellae of ray florets with lacerate winged margins.

Calyptocarpus: Perennial, prostrate or decumbent, rooting at nodes; heads solitary at each node; disc florets 10-20; cypsellae of ray florets not winged

Because of the differentiating characteristics mentioned the id was clear and I also went on to see what is the meaning of disc florets and ray florets . It will help me for future understanding. I found that it is also called Lonestar flower quite an apt name.
