Happy New Year everyone!

Here is my first question of the new year!

I am doing a translation that talks about the five energies and I
cannot find 沖散させる [chuusan suru] in any dictionary--online and paper.
The context is 金気を沖散させる. I have tentatively translated it as disperse
metal energy.

Anyone know this one?

Yes, exactly, 冲 is correct.

The Chinese version of the word is explained here:

Thank you for all the good responses!

I just found another one that is causing me grief:

[[I just found another one that is causing me grief:

Maybe a little deduction would help. 逐 has a similar meaning to 追う

Are they talking about repelling moisture, or something similar?

I have decided on the use of 'expel' here as an approximation of the

I'm not an expert on this subject. Please don't count on me too much.
You are referring to spmething similar to the followings, right ?

These sentences are explaining what particular vegetables would work to expell
certain "qi" out of the body.

Though each sentence has different expression reflecting nature of each "qi", all
ending parts mean "be expelled".

Yes, the original meaning of逐is "pursue; chase" (e.g. Mencius: 則之野,有眾逐虎。Going once out to the wild country, [Mencius saw] people in pursuit of a tiger.) With "外", we can say "chase AWAY", "drive OUT", "EX-pel".
