Or imagine if Google put out a new version of Chrome and Gears didn't
work... Sounds to me like Google is trying to do what it can to push users to Chrome. The fact that they claim they'd have to do an update for ever RC is ridiculous, the whole point of an RC's is that its practically feature complete and its to check for last minute bugs.
