OK, we've sat on one of our logo designs for a while, and I wanted to
get some thoughts about how everyone feels about it now, after some
time has passed.

Also, Martin has taken his interpretation of the Fireworks brand and
added a new logo that is somewhat different.

We need to know what you like about it, and what you think is not
working with either of the designs.

Also, remember that a logo matures over time with the brand it
represents. I came across a good example of that here:
http://www.noobpreneur.com/2009/04/30/progression-of-logo-%E2%80%93-m...

Check out our design process here:

Post what you think is good, and what is not working, back to this
discussion:

Jocelyn says:
"I think the rocket will be more recognisable in the long run as a
stand alone logo.  I also like the font but could we see it with the
"F" capitalised for comparison?"

I say:
I like the rocket better that the pop-explosion.  The only problem
with the rocket is that when you shrink it down to the size of a
computer icon, the fins and the stick on the bottom become
unrecognisable.  My thought is to remove the little stick and
emphasise the fins more to define the rocket.

I like the font, but would also like to see the F capitalised to see
what that looks like.

I think the colours are good, but, again, the fins of the rocket could
use a more contrasting colour rather than a lighter shade of the same
colour.

Kris asked me to make a wireframe of the website with concept 2 logo,
so you guys could see what it would look like in action. Right now, I
am just focusing on the brand, not so much the font of the name.

Here's the link http://dev.martinhipp.com/fw/4/

Since the logo project has gathered some momentum, I thought it would
be a good idea to define the process a little better.

I put up a blog post about it, which is open to comments of course.
design.html)

I also update the logo sketch page in this forum to better reflect the
open design process. (http://groups.google.com/group/fireworks-project/
web/logo-sketch-summary)

In the next iteration we're going to need to refine our ideas and
retire a couple of concepts.  As we make those decisions, we should
always refer to the Focus section which outlines the objectives of the
project at the top of this page: (http://groups.google.com/group/
fireworks-project/web/logo-sketch-summary)

While we are not closed to new concepts, we do need to begin to retire
2 out 3 three concepts we have.

The logo design discussion ended up forking into two threads, which is
really confusing.

So, I'm killing this thread, and all further discussion should go to
this one:

http://groups.google.com/group/fireworks-project/browse_thread/thread...

Which is linked to the page here:
