using shortname for embed code

On Publr, I request users Disqus shortname and build the embed code
for them. Since there isn't a way to change your blog's shortname
after it's been created, I thought this was a future proof way of
doing it. Is that a safe way of doing things? Are there plans to allow
users to change their blog's shortname in the future?

Yes, this will be safe. We have no plans for allowing users to change
their site shortnames.
