Are there many people who are participating in this latest build day?

I'm happy to come and hang around despite not building any hardware
myself, helping other people or things like that... that is, if we're
going ahead with the proposed date this weekend, and if Andy is happy
to have me.

Hey Luke,

While I haven't Bern able to make many hackerspaces lately, I will be
heading along. It would be great to see you.

Sam.

So has a data been decided?
I would like to come along, although like Luke I will not be building anything this time.

hi All,

I'm anticipating 4 new-comers (Evan, Jon, Justin, Wade) and 5 old-
hands (George, Paul, Luke, Sam, myself) from the first build day.

If Pete, Josh or Brett want to come along, they'd be very welcome.

This is quite exciting, because one of the goals is to create a
healthy development community around this project ... and to have
enthusiastic participation from those who already attended previous
build days is a very good sign and much appreciated.

I'm sure that the old-hands will be bringing their hardware along (we
need a photo gallery), which will help everyone get a good picture of
what we're trying to accomplish. It'll also be a good time to bring
all the software (node, gateway, web service) up-to-date and
interacting with each other.

Luke: It'll be great to have you !

Yes, it is definitely this Saturday, 14th November, starting at 9:30
am and running till approximately 5:30 pm.

All details will be kept up-to-date on this web page ...

http://groups.google.com/group/aiko-platform

Over the next day or so, I'll send more details about preparation,
(improved) schedule, etc.

This time, the goal is to have all documentation, software and example
hardware complete, ready prior to the build, based on feedback from
the last build day.

Until then, you could skim the trial Build Day #0 pages.

I do have a spare set of unassembled hardware, which I'd be very happy
for Luke and yourself to build on the day ... if you are both
interested.

I'm not able to make it on the weekend sadly :( I'll be very eager for the end of month meetup.

Is there a list of things you'd like to get ready for the weekend Andy? Otherwise I might have a look through the wiki and see if there is anything I can help update.

I had an attempt of tracing the top for using as a template to tell where to drill,

The hole count is right, but the measurements are a bit off... I've still got the eps.

Hi folks,

Andy: I'd planned to chat with you tonight at CCHS, but got waylaid with work and didn't get clear until 9:30ish.

I won't be able to make this Aiko weekend due to TEDx Melbourne http://www.tedxmelbourne.com/
TEDx starts at 10am and finishes at 4:30pm, so not sure there would be much point in heading your way by then.

Apologies,

Paul

PS - I had been looking forward to showing off my latest router assembly updates. I tried out George's idea of Nylon screws and I've mounted the touchpad - its all looking pretty nice :)

Yes, I'll pass on the details as I saw it but haven't implemented it.

Basically, the idea was to replace the metal screws with Nylon screws.
These screws can be glued into place, super glue should be fine
otherwise 5-minute Araldite. If you are intending to paint the router,
you'd have no screw heads or any other side of the interior sticking
though the top of the care. This is also a good avenue if you need to
change hardware after painting.

Paul,

TEDx sounds great :-) Anyway hope to see you at the monthly meeting.

Regards

George
