So what exactly is our status with the 501(c)3? I've been to the Wiki and looked it over. It's a bit jumbled, and all around confusing since there's so much information in so many sections. So, I guess my real questions are these:
What do we have to do to get this submitted?
Can we highlight the areas of our potential submission that we feel need further review, and/or are currently lacking?
Have we started allocating funds for the submission fee?
Can we set a realistic submission goal? I feel like this keeps getting pushed back because it's somewhat unfamiliar, but it seems EXTREMELY important. Many non-profits file a 501(c)3 before they actually open.
I am personally willing to do any work possible for this, but I feel like we need more definition as to what still needs to be done, and how those tasks can be accomplished.
Please let me know about all of this. Once we're approved, we get a lot more opportunities, especially in the realm of grants and sponsorships (which is what i'm working on these days). The decision process takes anywhere from 3-6 months in itself, so it would be nice to get that clock spinning.
Let's get this done, and make it as kick-ass as possible.
