The double brackets in the following link don't render in media wiki.
escaping the wikiword doesn;t work. using a tiny url triggers the spam
filter.

Maybe I don't understand, but I think what you want inside the
brackets may be:

http://tiddlywiki.com/#[[Help%20and%20Support]]

(Note the # symbol).

Or as a tiny url:

http://tinyurl.com/afxugl

Those brackets need to be escaped - this is a known issue with Firefox 3:
http://tiddlywiki.org/wiki/Firefox#Permalinks

So what you want there is the following:

Testing the loop from question on group to tw.org entry and back again
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Overview

The original question was "The double brackets in the following link
don't render in media wiki."
The question was answered
The person who asked the question added the answer tw.org

Intention

The intention is outlined below:

For example reducing the number of questions from new TwUser could be
addressed by tweaking the connections between the systems that produce
the list of frequently asked questions.

Reducing the complexity of the journey to the question (perhaps
measured by number of clicks?) would make it easier for new TwUsers to
find the list of frequently asked questions , leading to less
questions asked.

The question of producing a clear list of FAQ on tiddlywiki.com,
with the default option of downloading a TW copy with the list worth
considering? It is a governance issue. [1]

Method

Taking my own problem, I took the answers given and ,by searching,
found the place on tw.org where i would have found it .

When I found no page, I added one.

Then I wrote something that would explain the problem at the level of
technical complexity that I would have needed to solve my own
problem.

I attempted to reduce the complexity of finding the answer by putting
it in a place where someone asking the question again would able to
find it on tw.org

Results

Searching tw.org with the original question resulted in no results.

Observations

How a problem is categorized by the person asking it and the person
who provided the answer are different.
Measurements concerning the simplification or reduction of complexity
of a route to the answer is dependent on how the problem is
categorized and therefore subjective.

The origin of the question and the discussion of its resolution, from
the perceptive of a new person seeking an already answered question
has more complexity than a version edited and categorized by a
previous questioner asking the same question.

An expert edited version of the answer is simpler but the knowlege
used to make it simple is not available to the new questioner: s/he
has to get there, then post-rationalize to understand where the answer
is to be found. But until the learning takes place they can't find
this place.

Conclusion

Routes might have to be messy from the perspective of the teacher in
order for them to be more useful for the learner?

Herein lies a problem with http://tiddlywiki.org/

Seldom, if ever, have I found what I want by searching. Its greatest
value to me has been FND's direct links from threads. However if you
can't find his link you would be hard put to find it again.

Nothing you have listed above will find your recent entry. (including
'faq') In fact I can't think of anything that will, even knowing you
put an entry in FAQ and going there.

Of course knowing what the problem with square brackets is with, as
FND says, "a known issue with Firefox 3" will not help you find it.
There very well may be a entry for it but what level of knowledge
would you need to find it? Knowing the answer is of no help either.

Perhaps I have been spoiled by TiddlyWiki searching titles, text and
tags; it may give more information than needed but the answer is there
somewhere.

I believe the secret to tiddlywiki.org's success is not the valuable
information it contains but an intelligent search engine in order to
find it.

Alex,
Thank you for taking a principled approach to testing ways to make
answers to common questions more accessible.

As Morris points out, it's probably more common for people to find
answers on tiddlywiki.org through links posted on the newsgroup rather
than search tw.org directly. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if most TW
users start out with a google search rather than specifically on
tw.org. That has the advantage of includes searches on the
newsgroups. Might be interesting to
a) see if it's true that people search via google before posting a
question
b) if so, consider how to integrate that search into the overall
process for finding tw info

On tw.org there is an link [1] to search the site with google.

basically it searches tiddlywiki.org/wiki OR trac.tiddlywiki.org

Clearly there is a lot test here.

I use Ubiquity to do my searches from my personal TW.
Will have a look to make a Ubiquity [2] command to searh tw.org when i
have a moment.
This will enable search of tw.org from
*any tw
*group
*anywhere - it's Ubiquity: i love it!
