Grant Park Conservancy/Advisory Council Meeting: Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 6:30 p.m.
Location to be announced as the Daley Bicentennial Field House is closed for the construction of Maggie Daley Park. NEAR Note: As of noon, the meeting location was not announced, however it reportedly is at Northerly Island Park…2 miles walking along lakefront…2.9 miles by cab or car, and 37 minutes by #60 bus connecting to #146 at State and Monroe, after a short walk from Madison- see below)
We will present preliminary plans for a new skate plaza/small, out-door performance area to be built below-grade on the south end of Grant Park. Another NEAR Note: Many persons thought the “skate plaza” was for figure skating performance or ice hockey skating, however a replacement skate-boarding area is being proposed. So far, the promised replacement for the figure and hockey surface at Daley Plaza has not been announced.)
We will also have updates on the construction of Maggie Daley Park .
