I could use a look-up on my great-grandfather Charles Rose said at one time to be born in Alameda County (Berkeley?) August 5, 1889 (or 1890). His mother's maiden name was Elizabeth Porter (she was born in Sierra County) but she may have gone by Lizzie or Eliza and may have been married by then to Ruiz. His father, her first marriage by Sierra county judge, is  Manuel  D Rosa  in 1882 (the San Francisco paper notice; Emmanuel De Rosa) Another spelling I've also seen is Roza. Thanks.

Marge,

Do these have any connections to the Gracia's of Santa Cruz. They went by Grace while they lived in Rhode Island. Joseph Tomas Gracia born about 1851 and Mary Gracia born about 1852 children Benjamin, Joseph, Mary (May) Virginia, Clara

Hi Marge,

Do you have the birth month for the 1st and 2nd children? This will help me save time searching for them.
Hopefully it will be on the 1900 census.

Hi Carol,

You said that you went to the FHC this week to look at microfilms for Alameda County in California.  Did you do this look up that you requested from me so I don't don't spend the time to look for it a 2nd time?

Please let me know.

Hi Carol,

Have you had a chance to look at your research to see if you have a connection to Butte County in California?

I may not have a chance until this week-end. Off the top of my head there were connections to Camptonville and Downieville in the 1800's. The family men were gold miners. I'm thinking this was before the area was divided into Sierra and Butte counties, but I'll have to re-check the boundaries and history. I know I have some copies of censuses but I'm at work with appointments after.
