: Add another name to this list such that it is consistent and
: meaningful: Anita Loos, Margaret Langdon, Edna Ferber, and ?

Frances Hodgson Burnett.

(All four are women who have written novels on which a well-known Broadway
musical was based: respectively, _Gentlemen Prefer Blonds_, _Anna and the
King of Siam_ [which became _The King and I], _Show Boat_, and _The Secret
Garden_.)

Booked and recorded.

We had Maria Von Trapp (Novel and subsequent Broadway hit, "The Sound of
Music"). But Frances Hodgson Burnett is a winner also. Well done, Aaron.

Ah, I thought of this objection, so I prepared alternative answers just in
case:

Baroness Orczy, for _The Scarlet Pimpernel_
C. Y. Lee, for _Flower Drum Song_

I didn't think of _The Sound of Music_, I'm ashamed to say. But I'm not
the best judge of the well-knownness of Broadway musicals; _The Secret
Garden_ is better known to me than _Gentlemen Prefer Blondes_, at any
rate.
