I posted the following to this newsgroup about 10 days ago, but didn't see
any replies. So I'll try again - hope it's not too hard for everyone.

I'm using Excel97 SR-1 under Windows 95, and over about the last three days
[now up to about two weeks] I've been getting a "Cannot empty the clipboard"
message when simply copying cells within a spreadsheet (usually by
Ctrl-click and drag). More interesting/annoying is that it doesn't happen
all the time; only sometimes. I'm getting this behaviour within a single
sheet, and I even find it that it comes/goes without closing either Excel or
the sheet. Decidedly weird!!!!

I've also been unable to find any reference to this problem in Microsoft's
tech support knowledge base. Any help would be much appreciated.

Rob

Sorry that you didn't get a reply to your earlier message.
My guess is that this isn't an Excel problem but a Windows issue.
Perhaps you should take a look at ClipboardViewer ( Program/Accessories) -
it may have been corrupted
