When I create a new Workbook, the gridline will be display, and I have
to
select Tool/Option to turn it off for each worksheet. Is there a way to
change the default, so that gridline will not be display for the whole
Workbook?

Thanks.

Hi ..
What you need to do is set up a Workbook Template.
Open a new workbook and make all the changes that you need, grid lines off,
alter number of worksheets, font type, make headings , etc..
Then > File > Save As.
From >Save As Type > Select Template, and give it a name.
(New Book.xlt )
And save it. Then when selecting > File > New , the Template Workbook will
be ready to open.
After opening the Template , and using it, save it with a new name ( New
Name.xls) as you would any new workbook.

Hi! I'm not sure if this is what you want, but you could
1. Go to a fresh worksheet
2. Highlight all the worksheets by choosing the first then doing a Shift
click on the tab of the last
3. Get rid of the gridlines on all of them at once with the Tools/Options
4. Choose the first worksheet
5. Save this worksheet as a Template, perhaps called NoGridLines.
6. Close it.
From then on you would be able to open a new worksheet without gridlines by
choosing File/New and selecting the NoGridLines version.

I haven't tried changing the default worksheet yet.

Good Luck,
Michael

Bonjour a vous,

If you are using *EXCEL 97* and want (like me!) all gridlines in the new
workbooks AND new worksheets be turned off by default:

- Quit Excel (if it is running)
- Launch Regedit.exe (Windows directory)
- Activate the following subkey :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\8.0\Excel\Microsoft Excel
- Double-click on the entry "Options3"
- Select (if necessary) the option"hexadecimal base"
- Insert 40 in the beginning of the entry value.
For instance :
. if the value is 40, replace it with : 4040
. if the value is 80, replace it with : 4080
The new value must be 4 characters long (40xx)
- Quit Regedit
- Run Excel

That's done!

If you want to recover the default behaviour (gridlines on), just remove
the inserted '40' in the registry entry.
