networking a msdos computer to windows xp

i want to connect an ms dos booted computer to a computer
running windows xp. i have installed netbeui on the xp
machine but the dos computer cant see the xp one

You need to download and install DOS networking client and server
files from Microsoft. J. Helmig has provided detailed instructions at
