since powerarchiver is now shareware which zipper should i use now

Just stay with the last freeware version of PowerArchiver :)

Yes, but it still has major bugs, that they kept saying ver 7.0 would fix,
like the add file(s) to zip feature that in fact replaces the old files in
the archive with the new ones.

Well, no!
If I click add within an existing archive and select *Update (and add)
files* I expect the new files to be stored in the archive together with the
old ones. This doesn't happen in ver 6.11, but works fine in ver 7.0 and in
Winzip.
