go http://www.altavista.digital.com/cgi-bin/query?pg=q&what=news&fmt=&q=
with &q=OS4000
However when I get to to character position 77 I run out of line.
One would expect the last 0 to scroll to the next line, but this actually
happens:
go

Two questions:
1. Is the above some strange feature of my mail package (SelectMAIL for DOS
v2.1.3)?
2. Is there a continuation character that I can use at the end of the line
so commands exceeding 77 characters are interpreted completely

Every mail program has some line limit. Ususally these can be changed in some
place like "options", or "preferences"
However, as long as you type the string as a continuous entry, it doesn't matter
how you mail program breaks up the line. The line will be decoded by AltaVista
properly.
NOTE: Don't add any unneccesary CRs or LFs by trying to keep the line together.
Just time away and let the mail program breakup the line ever how it sees fit
to.

NO. See above.
Also your return address was so long it was truncated by Help-Net and I was
unable to send a "cc" of this to you directly. I would advise you to include
your address as part of your signature, somewhat like mine. In this way
somebody can always get your address to send mail to you directly.
