plugin does not work:
Windows Media Player Plug-in Dynamic Link Library
File name: npdsplay.dll
Npdsplay dll
If I download a .WMV file allis OK and Window Media Player start by a double

Any idea ?
Thanks

Same problem here, as I recall it has something to do with mime-types,
buth I never bothered to dig into the problem.
Hopefully, someone will give you (and me) a solution.
Cheers and good luck.

Dollars to donuts, the sites that DONT play automatically do have mis configured mime types on the server.
Many sites figure that since IE recognizes files suffixes such as .wmv, they dont have to assign the proper mime type to the file. Mozilla and other browsers dont rely on file types, but instead on the web standard mime type.
If you had some urls with examples I could be more specific

NO this is not a problem with any WMV file. If the server is configured
correctly, the file will play, but this server is sending it as
text/plain, so Mozilla is doing just that.
The workaround is to right click and save the file to you hard drive.
You can then open it with WMP.
Firefox 0.8 and Moz 1.7b both have this fixed. The browser sniffs the
file and offers to download it and open it in yourt default media player.

Surely you don't think that anyone outside the colonies realises that
there is a world in which the Great George does not rule.
Its simply paraphrasing what you said, and showing that where there is a will, there is a way.
