There are no accredited US schools of this name. There are four Loyolas
(Maryland, Illinois, California, Louisiana) but none is a "State." The
biggest operators of phony schools in the FBI's history, the Fowler
brothers of Chicago, used dozens and dozens of school names, and this may
well have been one of them. Do you know where it is supposed to be, or
have been, located? --John Bear

More information. It is located in Itasca, Illinois, claims accreditation
from the International Association of Universities and Colleges (I am not
familiar with this accreditor), and says they are an "approved member" of
the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education.

The AAACE tells me they do not have "approved" status, and anyone who pays
the fee can join.

When I tried to call Loyola State, I got immersed in voice mail hell, and
never got to a human being. This may either mean they are very big, or
very small (i.e., no one other than President Laurie Lasata). I look
forward to finding out more.

(The "student services" line is 800-859-1224; the administration line is
(708) 585-4010.)

Very interesting since its Illinois address means it is sure to be
confused with one of the accredited Loyolas.

I also am surpirsed that there are not restrictions on the use of the word
"State" in the title of a University since this also leads to inevitable
confusion that it is a state university.
