Bernardo Aragon's crashing of his Buddhist Boards last weekend
completed the destruction of all non-sectarian Buddhist Boards. The
last year has seen the crashing and burning of the Trike
(www.tricycle.com), American Buddha, Zen Forum, and Buddhist Boards
BBs.

This stage in our history - that of the systematic traumatization of
the Cybersangha by the blatant and public irresponsibility of
self-absorbed BB admins - will live long in infamy.

In the depths of this on-going debacle, I vowed that my Yahoo group (
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/The_American_Buddhist/ ) is a permanent
fixture of the Buddhist web, and that it WILL exist as long as Yahoo
maintains its current policies about groups.

In response to the crashing of BA's Buddhist Boards, Charles and Tara
Carreon brought up their defunct BB (formerly the American Buddha
board), as "Buddhist Boards 2", (find it at:
http://www.american-buddha.com/bulletin_board/index.php ) and they
also state that this board will not go away. The Carreons, like
thoroughly demeaned yours truly, are the veterans of many brutal Web
wars, and I believe they mean this, and that this constitutes the turn
of the tide with respect to this pandemic nonsense on the Buddhist
boards.

Besides frivilous motivations (commercial gain in the case of Trike
and Zen Forum and control-freakism in the case of BA's Buddhist
Boards), these board crashings have been associated, without
exception, with administrative refusals to allow the most discussable
issue on the English-speaking Buddhist Web - American Buddhism.

This is the first straightforward thing that I've ever seen out of
Bernardo Aragon. Why is it that somebody with less than 50% of the
population must have zero representation? How utterly, utterly
Oriental!

In later developements, this very same person has been trying to
*sell* me his site! What *has* he been smoking?

BA's previous moderator, who styles himself eXploiTeD, also responded
to the crashing of Buddhist Boards, by cleaning up his own board into
something truly Buddhist, which he calls "The Sangha". eXploiTeD has
the most Buddhist motivation I've ever seen in a BB admin. Check out
his board at: http://www.milkbag.net/chaosad/phpBB/index.php

The Sangha is a lot smaller and cleaner than the American
Buddha/Buddhist Boards 2 thang ever has been or ever can be. If were
just an ordinary Buddhist looking for somewhere to post without
administrative interference, this is where I'd do it.

We're dealing with serious paradigmatic regime change here, folks.
The Cybersangha is now thoroughly traumatized, and will be slow to
come back to any board. And there's a new generation of people
getting involved, who have zero tolerance for the sleazy motivation
and pure blind stupidities of some of their elders. I can't say as
how I blame them.

What is it that you suggest then? I've yet to hear anything but
complaints from you. You ask for an American or Western Buddhism
forum, while it has been there all along. Are you simply just looking
for an argument? Just tell me what it is you recommend!

The reason I tried to sell you the site is because you expressed
interest in having your own "Buddhist Boards" which you could
administer as you saw fit. Since you seem so motivated, I decided to
make you an offer. Apparently, you're not as motivated as I thought.
What do you mean by Zero representation? The board is in English!
There are forums for Western Buddhism, I see nothing which makes the
board learn toward one side or another. Barely 5% of all members on
that site come from Asia, the main reason being they don't speak
English!.

Seems to me you're just looking to fight, you have nothing better to
do with your time than pick quarrels with people. The same goes for a
great deal of people who spend their time here day after day, week
after week. Instead of going out to accomplish something, you spend
your whole time insulting and attacking each other. You'll never get
anything done this way. Only by acting and doing something can you
accomplish something. I gave you a chance for your own board, you
refused. You instead decided to come here within minutes to repeat
what you've posted five times now on four different sites. Why don't
you try to move forward? Why don't you try to make what you envision
come true? Why do you rather complain and complain until it seems all
you do is spam what sanctuary is left on the internet.

I actually own about 50 discussion boards on a variety of topics,
using different aliases for each for obvious reasons. This is the only
community I've seen which is, in American terms, "Truly fucked up".

The only reason I'm posting this follow-up is to thread your post into
it. You have a truly annoying habit of trying to disappear your trail
by deleting records. You did the same kind of thing to me on Buddhist
Boards, and you've misrepresented me here completely, but I believe
that any objective observer will deduce who is the one with the more
combative attitude.

Maybe some day I will come back and deal with your lies in detail. In
the meantime, you have a *real* nice day, and be sure to take
O-Nenbutsu, and be delivered from this defiled world of red dust.

Same-same like below, cyber-dude. Thanks for feeding my thread, you
have a *remarkably* nice day, and don't let a harmless little Jodo-Man
get to you. I'm just not worth the spit and piss you put out.

I understand you are not completely literate with technological
related matters, but it is impossible to delete a message from USENET.
Once a message is posted, it goes to many different servers over the
world. The message then expires after a certain amount of time unless
it is archived by a system like Google Groups. I see no "deleted"
messages in my news reader.

Also, none of your posts were ever deleted from Buddhist Boards. As
"Exploited" or "Liberate" who was once a moderator at Buddhist Boards.
He'll tell you that all "removed" posts were simply moved to a private
forum and were still archived. Your only "removed" posts belonged to
threads that were removed because of rule-breaking content by other
members. There was never anything saying you couldn't repost what you
said.

You've just been caught in a lie. You can try to counter with whatever
you may want to say, but the facts speak louder than any sermon you
can attempt to give.

Thanks for feeding my trap?

You deleted your message from the Google index. That's why the thread
post count is greater than the number of posts that actually appear,
and in the thread diagram, it looks like I answered my own post. Here
is the content of the deleted message:

This continues to be the only straight statement that I've ever seen
by you. On Buddhist Boards, as on Google, hiding information where
only administrators can reach it is the equivalent of deleting it for
normal communciation purposes.

You have an *incredibly* delicious day, and if you take O-Nenbutsu and
fall on Amida's compassion, you won't have this silly need to
manipulate and lie.

I could almost hear the bones crunch and the skull crack when I posted
this last follow-up. This was a brutal defeat for an Oriental,
because of the loss of face involved.

Let it be a warning to any other Oriental cyber-nerds who may be
lurking out there with designs on my Sangha.

Buddhism has now existed in our land for five full generations. At
this point indigenous American Buddhism is our birth-right, and our
sacred Dharma. We don't need your thoroughly offensive Asian ideas
about administration. We are absolutely capable of administering our
own, and of defending our own.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do not interfere with the cybersangha again. There's just no payoff
for you in this. None whatsoever. None at all.
