Howdy,
we do use unattended setup for XP for more than 6 months now. Works
great.
Now with XP SP1, there's the option to manually disable (thus:
automatically deleting outlook) and enabling IE6 (so that the Icon on
the Desktop appears again.
Steps to do that manually:
Set Programm Access and Defaults
Add/Remove Windows components
*enable IE6
*disable Outlook express.

Even the files in the c:\program files\outlook express directory are
deleted than. Manually that's not possible due to file protection.

But how can that be done in the unattended.txt?
There is the chance to control other stuff with that section:
[Components]
IEAccess=Off
msmsgs = Off
msnexplr = off
dialer = off
freecell = off
hearts = off
solitaire = off
media_clips = off
minesweeper = off
pinball = off
spider = off
zonegames = off

Okay, so does anybody knows how to:
*disable/delete messanger
*disable outlook express
*enable IE6 ??

I've searched the web and M$ knowledgebase and couldn't find anything
about this yet.

Thanks
Bernd

What??

Q. How can I stop the installation of MSN Messenger and MSN Explorer?

A. If you use an unattended-installation script, you can prevent the
installation of the MSN components by adding the following lines in
the [Components] section:

msmsgs=off
msnexplr=off

MSIE is installed by default, you don't need to enable it.

Got that with Messenger. It's already running in our unattended XPSP1
install. But using the basic XP and putting the SP1 on it, does
reaktivate Messanger as well :-(

Okay, Messanger and IE6 problem is solved.
But how about deleting Outlook Express (to be more precise: don't even
install it!) ???
