I deleted all my Power Schemes under power management. Now everything is
greyed out and I can't add a new scheme. the system is going into standby at
10-15 min I guess by default. How can I get the schemes working again. I
instilled Win98 again, didn't solve the problem

Go to the System in Control Panel and look for Power Management under System
Devices. Remove it, reboot, and let Win 98 find it again. That might do
the trick.

Have you checked the CMOS settings for power management?

I don't know for sure if this will work or not but.....

Find <powercfg.inf> and rt-click/Install this file. This should write the
default Power Schemes back into the registry. You'll need to restart Windows for
these settings to become available.
