I'm not sure why you keep posting links to reviews of your game in this group.
Seems to me that everyone who is interested in the game is already aware of your
website and would have access to those links there. Posting them here just
fuels the flames don't you think? Again, I'm not at all sure but if I had to
guess, I'd say that you do this on purpose, using the old "any publicity is good
publicity". I hope you realize though that it comes across as extremely self
promoting and is considered spam by many - not only because the group is not
intended as an advertizing medium but also because it just fuels the same
flamewar that you you yourself have stated has destroyed this newsgroup.

Interestingly, one of your very own toadies pointed out that the screenshots that
accompany the article seem to be from the supposed XP1 expansion, rather than BCM.

Why? For someone who can knock up a multplayer patch with ease and code clever
AI routines, surely collision detection should be a pushover. Apparently,
still not fixed it seems. I hope the reviewer doesn't mention this on your
forum, after all you can hardly boot out the only person who is giving you OK
reviews.

It's a desparate man who must cling to abysmally amateurish reviews to
prop up his product. Let's see now...
" Battlecruiser Millennium (BaM)" A game reviewer who isn't familiar
with the abbreviation used for the game. It's the sure mark of
quality!

The screenshots have now been changed to BCM shots, but have a look at

am a member of the BC community..and IMHO, the guys suffers SEVERLY from a
MASSIVE inferiority(?) complex, and probably ALSO has a VERY poor self-image..

He says he's developing these games for his "fan-base" yet that base seems to
be getting smaller and smaller since the release of BCM..probably because when
people go to his COMMERIAL GAME site (so it technically ISN'T a private
forum...) what do they see?? Ridicule, condescendion(?), and rampent arrogance
BY the developer of the game against ANYONE who either posts about BUGS in the
games (either games [BC3K/BCM] as they BOTH contain bugs..)..or has an honest
critism about the games..
..and how does he respond to those people who take thier time to post about bug
issues or critisms?? He either INSULTS them outright without reason or cause,
SUSPENDS them or BANS them entirely.. then more often then not DELETES the
posts in question...which I believe, speaks for itself...
It seems very disturbing when the owner of a company CHOOSES to alienate, and
insult the very people to support his games..and to me seems a very illogical
way to sustain and build a fan-base..more-less a company..
I have both BC3K 2.07 (patched to 2.09), and BCM (with all patches), but with
BCM, I had ONE HELL of a time even trying to install the damn game,,, couldn't
keep it running for more then 30 minutes WITHOUT it crashing back into
windows.. so I took it, and put it up on the shelve, and went back to playing
FFE (Frontier: First Encounters) and BC3K.. I read ALL the tech threads on HIS
forum about BCM, but still could never get the game to run right..(hmmm,,,must
be my severe lack of intelligence...NOT the game itself...yeah THAT MUST be
it...) never bothered to register it and consider it a complete waste of my
hard-earned $50! (hopefully it will eventually get the patch it needs to RUN
correctly..SCREW MP, I just want it to RUN!)
But I still play BC3K 2.09, even though it DOES have certain bugs in the game
which CAN be proven...( i really don't care if a game has bugs in it as long as
it's a good game and it's reasonably stable... FFE had/has alot of bugs as well
and I play it more then I play any other game...) ..as I still play Daggerfall
and Pirates Gold and a ton of other games that I enjoy but contain bugs...
Every other game site I've ever been to was helpful and at least acknowledged
my complaints..but not Derek, which again.. speaks for itself...
I really like BC3K 2.09.. it's fun and complex, with tons of things to do and
interesting places to go (once you get your BC crew's AI above 75)..and
REGARDLESS of Derek or his forum, will always play it.. BCM, I'd love to play
the game, but it doesn't run that well, and I AIN'T about to ask Derek or
anyone on his forum, 'cause I ain't a brown-noser...never been..never will be,
and I DON'T choose to be insulted by people I've never even met before...
The BC community (if you completely EXCLUDED Derek) is also fun and
interesting, with a lot of kewl people, but it's getting to the point where
it's really nothing more then a POLICE state, where you have to watch every
comment and post lest you be smitten by the "iron fist" of Derek or his
"toadies"...and where is the fun in that???
...but it seems I'm preaching to the choir here.. :D
I'll go back to lurking now...
