I'm using Nero 6.0.0 and have purchased a new DVD burner, the LG GSA 4040B
burner.

When I'm on the final burning step, Nero recognizes my burner as D: HL-DT-SD
DVDRAM GSA-4040B (CD-R/RW). It doesn't recognize the DVD capability of this
drive. Yet, the burning software that came with the drive (Gold version 5)
works and recognizes the drive as a DVD drive.

Any thoughts on how I can get Nero to work with my burner?

Thank you

I have a 4082B.

When I use Nero Express 5.5.10.56, on the first screen it asks me
which burner do I want to use: the 4082B cd burner or the 4082B dvd
burner.

Maybe you overlooked a similar drop-down list with your Nero 6? I've
never seen Nero 6 yet.

I have a 4040B and use Nero 6 to burn DVD's. When starting a new
compilation in Nero 6 you must select whether it is to be a CD, DVD, or
HD-Burn from the drop down menu in the very upper left corner of the New
Composition window.

Hope that helps,

tb
