I'd like to know how I can move in the index so as to be able to read messages
marked as deleted.
I have bound keys like that:
bind generic down next-entry
bind generic up previous-entry
With these bindings, you can only move to the previous or next undeleted
message.
I tried with ^N and ^P, and with ESC N and ESC P, but I still don't manage to
go on all the messages.
Is there a way to move in the index "normally", I mean wothout making the
difference between a deleted ans an undeleted message?
Thanks.
Regards,
Hugo

Try binding them specifically for the index. When index have specific
settings, they are defined after the generic ones. Hence they cannot
be overwritten by generic bindings.
Quite irritating, imho.

Simply enter the message number followed by "ENTER".

You're right.
This is odd, because the manual does not say that those two keys are bound to
another function in the index...
bind index down next-entry
bind index up previous-entry
and I get :
Error in /home/dfaure/.muttrc, line 61: next-entry: no such function in map
Error in /home/dfaure/.muttrc, line 62: previous-entry: no such function in map
This is with mutt-0.88e. Too old ?

It works with version 0.91.1.
I use j and k to move down and up in the index (for undeleted messages).
Use J and K to go to the next message in the respective direction
regardless of whether it is deleted or not.

i'm using `J' and `K' to move down and up over deleted messages, the
lowercases works only for the undeleted ones.

thats for moving to the next or previous thread

don't know, j/k and J/K works for me fine ;-)
