First steps: collect all the pieces
1.. Click on the pillow of the bed to get a key.
2.. Click under the chest of drawers to get the cassette tape.
3.. Click on the bowl next to the stereo to get a ring.
4.. Click on the pillow to lift it up again, then click at the edge of the
mattress to find the metal stick.
5.. Click on the closed window blind to open it and find another key.
6.. Click on the window blind a few times to open and close it to get
another ring.
7.. When facing the blank wall, click in the lower left corner of the
purple floor to find the battery.
8.. Click on the gold key to highlight it, then click the left bottom
drawer to unlock it. Click the drawer again to open it. Find the power cord.
9.. Click the white key to select it, then click the right bottom drawer
to unlock it. Click the drawer again to open it. Find the red box.
10.. Click the upper left drawer to find the CD case (don't know what this
is for, maybe to let you know that the stereo is a CD player? The case is
empty, so I guess the natural thing to do is open the CD tray on the stereo
to look for a CD)
11.. Click the upper right drawer to find the note with the URL on it. (
http://www.datacraft.co.jp/takagism/rr/history.html This URL takes you to a
page with the words "TAKAGISM SINCE 1994". This is significant later.
12.. Click on the stereo to bring it up close. Click the power cord to
select it. Now click on the stereo to plug the power cord in.
13.. Click the button on the stereo's upper left corner to power it on.
Then click the CD tray to open it. Find the last key (it looks like a door
key, but doesn't open the door).
14.. You now have all the pieces of the puzzle, you just have to put them
together.
Note: you can press the TAB key repeatedly to find all the places you can
click.
Next: play the movie and open the safe
1.. Click on the red box to show it in the main screen.
2.. Click on a ring to select it. Then click on one of the round holes on
the red box. The ring will fit in there.
3.. Do the same for the other ring and hole.
4.. Click on the metal stick to select it. Then click on the rectangular
hole in the box. The stick fits there.
5.. You can now open the box.
6.. Put the battery in the empty spot in the box next to the existing
battery.
7.. Put the cassette into the spot in the box.
8.. Click on the box to start a movie of a sillouette dancing (made me
think of those iPod commercials). Watch this sillyness for a few minutes,
paying close attention. Eventually the sillouette will stop dancing and
point to a flashing cross shape on the wall.
**PAY CLOSE ATTENTION HERE**
It only lasts for a second or so, then it's gone. Put your cursor where
the cross shape is. Wait for the projection to end. The cross disappears.
Carefully click on the spot where the cross was 2 or 3 times until a square
appears on the wall. If you mess up and click too many times, or in the
wrong spot, the view changes from the blank wall to the chest of drawer, and
you have to start the movie over again. This is very annoying!
9.. Assuming you got the square to appear, click on it. It reveals a wall
safe.
10.. Click on the safe to show it close up. You have to enter the 4
numbers of the combination, and use the last key to open the safe.
11.. Here's where the info from the URL comes in. Enter 1994 as the
combination. Then click on the key to select it, and click on the keyhole in
the safe to open it. This reveals a screwdriver. Take the screwdriver.
12.. Move to the door. Select the screwdriver and click on the shadow of
the doorknob below the knob. You now have a closeup of the knob.
13.. Click on the doorknob to pry it off the door.
14.. Click on the hole in the door. Wonderous music plays, and you're out.
You get to send an email to the guy who wrote this damned thing, and
presumably he'll send you info for the next room.

Wait for the movie to finish and click very close to where the cross is till
you click on the right spot. Then a box will appear.
