Many of you may have heard of complaints about the (lack of) power of the
2.0JTS engines.
As far as I know, Alfa until now denied any problem.
During the introduction of the Alfa GT, Alfa's Dr Guido Panizza of Fiat-GM
Powertrains told Dutch Autovisie car magazine that
-quote-
Now that we have obtained more experience in the series production with the
direct injected JTS engine, we know how to work with the tighter tolerances.
In the beginning the spread in the power range between the engines was to
big. Some engines had 145HP others 160.
Now the spread has become much smaller and we "dare" to claim more power.
Besides that the engines respond beter to the throttle; you will notice that
the livelyness the "old" engine lacked can be found in the new 165HP
version.

Autovisie regrets not to have been able to check this as they only had an
oportunity to drive the 3.2V6 and the 1.9JTD
