Hello:

There is an online pet store called Pets Warehouse
(http://www.petswarehouse.com/). This company has brazenly stolen part of
Lorraine Hill's informative Complete Hamster Site as well as text from Ms.
Nancy Ferris, another pillar of the rodent care community.

They have been asked to give credit to the site they stole from and
they simply refused. They were then asked to remove the text, and they
responded with insults and attitude.

As a writer, the theft of another person's written work boils my
blood. But even more than that, Lorraine's site has helped thousands of
people with their basic hamster needs, and she has devoted a good portion
of her life to seeing that the information presented there is about the
best and most complete anywhere. For all the good she's done, she does not
deserve to be treated this way. Now she is forced to either accept the
theft of her work or spend money to bring a lawsuit against the company.

Lorraine would not impose upon people to help, but I will. I'm
suggesting that everyone write to Pets Warehouse
(E-Mail: lip...@petswarehouse.com) (ICQ # 22036402) and scream your head
off at them.

Tell them that you are DISGUSTED by their actions and that you will
NEVER patronize their service. Tell them that you will circulate word
against them (and do so) until they REMOVE the offending text from their
hamster page at: http://www.petswarehouse.com/hamster.htm

Keep writing, keep telling others, and shut these people down. I'm
definitely not a fan of mob action, but these people are UTTERLY BENEATH
CONTEMPT, and need to be bashed with all the energy you've got.

I've never suggested anything like this, but this is a real sore
spot. I apologize in advance if anyone feels this request is inappropriate.

Thank you.

Here's what I e-mailed them, hope it helps:

Subject: Loss of online customers

"It has come to my attention that your web site has plagiarized Lorraine Hill's
"Complete Hamster Site." I am amazed that you would not only refuse to ask for
her permission, but then also have the nerve to not site her page as the
source. She is a very sweet lady who loves pets and has dedicated a great
portion of her life to helping your potential customers. She does not deserve
your unkindness. I for one will not be using your online pet store, there are
other friendly web pet stores available. I would advise a change in strategy
if you want to remain competitive in the small pet market.
