According to my sources, Columbia State University is a degree mill, which
uses a mail forwarding and phone answering service in Louisiana. It is run
by the same person who runs Loyola State University, IL [not to be confused
with Loyola University of Chicago or Loyola University (Louisiana)].
Loyola State University is also a degree mill.

Minor correction:
I now believe the story is that it was a disgruntled graduate of the
phony Columbia State University who, unable to get her money back,
figured "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" and so started Loyola State,
by copying the Columbia State literature and making the name change.

The state of Illinois acted as one might with every other state would:
they closed down Loyola State within a few days, and were able to get
page one publicity in Chicago's two daily newspapers.
