Those of you new to this group, will soon find yourself confronted with
the phenomenon that is Raven Blackbane. You will urged to hate them,
follow them, fear them, learn from them ... all without much offered in
the way of honest context, from the regulars on this group.
Going to http://www.dejanews.com/ ......
The truth can easily be found by a search on Dejanews, back to Raven's
first appearance on this group, on January 9, 1997. As Raven
him/her/themselves make clear, RBB is no Wiccan, and doesn't believe in
magic, in any way, shape or form. Everything that you see online is one
long, protracted joke that people are coming in on, in the middle.
A joke that has long since gotten out of hand, and sucked its creator in,
to the point of consuming much of her (?) life.
As the responses following this first post below clearly illustrate, and
I will vouch for, from personal experience, this group reacts violently,
and fanatically, to even the mildest ridicule. They responded to an
amusing bit of kidding around, with a wave of hate, of which I've taken
one example, and only one reasonable letter telling people to cool it,
which I've included. Raven, understandably, displayed more than a little
irritation at this, and some hostile posting followed (some of which is
included). Flame followed hostility, and the whole thing ignited. Given
Raven's readiness to get crude, and this group's uptight attitudes,
nothing good could have followed from that point on.
So, am I saying that Raven is a troll, who is generally annoyed with the
group, and is deliberately trying to get those on it angry ? Well, sort
of. Raven is defying a group of people who, if truth be told (and it
rarely is, around here), have been more than slightly pushy, and well
deserve to be told where to go, and what to do when they get there.
Much later than the time covered by these posts, below, before I was aware
of the full situation, and naively took Michael Smith's account of the
events in question, at face value, there were posts, that appeared to be
from Raven's account, that were so horrific, as to defy belief. A young
mother, who was a regular here, had just lost her child. In the posts, the
author openly gloated about how the worms were eating the child. As the
group began to be consumed by its rage, a few of the women online, claimed
to have gotten threatening phone calls from RBB. They indicated that they
were calling the FBI, and that they intended to see RBB put away for a
good long time.
Wait a minute. Step back. How did they know that it was Raven Blackbane ?
I had my doubts at this point, and before people could get their stories
straight, I asked Loki, one of the women who was doing this, how she knew.
Carelessly, she wrote that she had used call trace. I then called her
local phone provider, to see if her story could, even theoretically, be
true. They said there was no way. Call Trace from Missouri, can't locate a
phone on the East Coast. Loki was lying. I had suspected as much, held
onto all documents, and sent them along to RBB.
Well, there's something to think about, huh ? People were ready and eager
to trump up a charge, and perjure themselves in support of it, in order to
unjustly incarcerate someone that they just happened to personally
dislike. Now, if you take a look, this is not a lovable person, to be
sure. But, what of it ? How could that possibly justify what was
attempted, here ?
"What about the e-mail ?", one might ask. Here's a little trick, you can
try. Go into lynx, go over to Dejanews, and use the option to e-mail an
author. Notice that it allows you to choose which e-mail address your
letter claims to be originating from. You can pretend to be anyone you
want. Anyone with a web browser can play a similar game.
With a little more on line sophistication, posts can be forged, too.
So, who's the troll, really ? There was more than a slightly fascist
undertone to what was occuring. "Stop saying things that we don't like,
or we'll find an excuse to put you in prison". Well, Sieg Hiel ! It's a
frightening thing, how eager people are becoming, to do such things.
So, my advice, if you're new here ? Killfile the whole bunch. RBB can't
let go of a joke that was funny, but has run out of steam. The rest are a
bunch of pushy morons, who keep trying to browbeat RBB into leaving,
unable to grasp the basic notion that if someone says "If you keep fucking
with me, I'm going to make life unpleasant for you", getting in his face,
at that point, is counterproductive. No, they want to power play. They
don't want RBB to simply get bored, and wander off. They want to be seen
driving her off. "Do as we say, or you'll wish you had". What they just
don't get, is that in doing so, they make it a matter of saving face, for
her to stay, and defy them.
And so it continues.
After you killfile RBB, >just on this group<, killfile everyone on the
group who follows up to her, or refers to her, >just on this group<.
Yeah, sure, me too, why not. RBB was the last bit of unfinished business
that I found lying around on Dejanews, so I have no reason to be back.
And don't get involved. Nothing but headaches await you, in that
direction. Here's something you might want to try. Go to the Midwestern
Pagan FAQ page at
(Cool, I've always wanted to do that :). On the copy of this post in
Dejanews, that reference will turn into a hotlink taking you directly
to that page.)
Once there, look up the questionnaire for determining whether or not
you've just joined a cult. Then apply the criteria from that
questionnaire, to this group. To back away from the group that I'm warning
you away from, can easily be seen to be your healthiest choice, if only
from a psychological point of view. Unless you make the mistake of telling
these people where you live, and they show up, perhaps. But let's not go
there.
Well, I hate to say goodbye to you, just as I'm saying hello, but there
you have it. I wish you the best of luck in your pursuit of spiritual
paths, less often trod, and urge you to move beyond just reading about
these things, and go out and live them, if you haven't already. The
written word never does justice to the fullness of a genuine experience,
lived in the flesh.
Hope to see you soon. Blessed be.
Joe Dunphy
PS. knowing Mike, something that I wrote once, will be blown out of all
proportion by him, so I'll post a copy of it, before he can do it.
It's a strange little account, of some people tangentially connected
to this group, or not so tangentially - Mr. Smith, himself, figures
prominantly.

Seriously, are you folks for real? Does dancing nude under a full moon in
your backyard really turn you on? Are all thruster working up there, or is
everyone ready for the rubber farm? I mean come on be for real, chanting
to a tree or a rock while yapping to invisible god(dess) that is/are not there
in the pitch black dark doesn't seem all that normal to me. KNOCK, KNOCK,
KNOCK, hello anybody up there or is Mr. Gray-Matter on vacation.
I have NO religion short of the 1st Amendment, not Christian nor Satanic or
Jewish or any other. So don't take this as some religious evangelist coming
on to you folks. Nor is this a flame bait to freak you out. No in fact,
I'm getting one hell of a good laugh out of reading this group. So much so I
would like to know where in the Northern Virginia Area I can walk into one
of your mentally disturbed Wicca stores so I can have a bursting good
laugh looking at all your want-to-be-a-witch stuff. You know: the oils and
candles and yes those "jet powered brooms"; I gotta have one of those; always
wanted to go to the moon on one of them.
Sit back and look at yourself. Does all this traditional ranting and
raving type rituals really obtain any end result? Does the boggy man
really wuussshh out of your pentagram and vanish over the horizon on some
unknown mission and destination. This is pathetic, you folks need some real
mental help here. You know living in some sort of fantasy is not
healthy. Don't you think it's time you permently ground yourselves. Trust
me, those god(dess) you THINK are out there [really they ain't] will not
mind if you just leave them in peace and quit bugging them.
Have you ever walked down the street and seen one of them homeless folks
ranting and raving to themselves or to some invisible buddy and you think the
poor fellow has lost it. Take a good hard look in the mirror and I will
assure you in there glazing back is that same poor old fellow.
Yup, got such a good hard laugh at how many of this Earth's population has
moved on to that great Wacco Farm I just had to get "To Ride A Silver
Broomstick" by Silver RavenWolf and read on. Yeah, even picked me out a
nice name that you folks would just love "Raven BlackBane". Well
anyhow (am I raving on?; geezz thought you were use to this; you are ain't
you? I mean raving at the moon seems all to normal for you) I read the book
from front to back and then had to go to the Emergency room as my laughter
ruptured my spleen. In fact I should have started from the end of the book
which lists several Wicca contacts; Ohm yeah all American On Line. Well
golly-be that explains it all right there. Every one knows that only folks
from Saint Elisabeth uses AOL. I give the book only one good mark; the witch
(I guess) on the front cover ain't all that bad looking. But if you really
look at her, notice how sadly lost she appears. Her eyes glazing endlessly
in a dark void only lit by the full moon in hopes of finding something that
just never is there (and never will you freaks from some strange circus). Yup,
this poor old lonely witch must be color blind as her broom sure as hell
ain't silver.
Who ever she has been milking has really dragged her tits down to her hip;
maybe that's why she is so sad. Now going on to the next figure/picture
(page xiv); what the hell is this; witches were uniforms and metals; looks
like a bloody Russian outfit. Well the other figures are just as bad. I
notice the one on page 276. Women like "PAM"s; ain't PAM a name of a girl?
If girls like things called PAM doesn't this figure have some sub-mental
meaning like queer. Whatever.
Look the fact is, Wicca (which should be WACCO) is for the mental
disturbed; folks that just have failed to get a true grasp on reality and
some how let it split through their oily hands.
What is "Merry Meet" and "Harm none, do as you please" (remember telling my
sysop how peed-off you are about this is post is harming me so don't be a
hippocrit since I am doing as I please by smashing the bloody truthful
reality in your face some what harshly is not harming you).
O.K., this is how I see it all. You know this all a bunch of B.S. I am
giving you the beniffit of the doubt and assume that your candles are all
lit in the right places. It sort of a Dungeon and Dragon type of thing, you
have your fun, do your dance and then leave knowing it was all in fun and
excitement knowing full well that there is no such things as Aphrodite,
Aradia, Arianrhod, or them watch towers buggers. You know full well that
amulets, herbs, and spells will not protect you but rather resort to mace or
a gun if harm comes by. You telling me a stupid amulet will ward off some
Ape looking thief. Yea right, he'll snatch it right out of your hand and
smack you up sine the head with that stone. Now I'll agree herbs will
(might) heal you since most median is based on such. No crystal balls will
tell you nothing that ain't already in your sick head. And just why the
hell is it called web weaving? I call it one psycho hunting down another.
Yea the one I like the most is "The book of shadows", man now that gets
my wilily just will-lying. I mean I am so scared that my shaking hands can
make really good marteenies. Don't tell me you have skeletons in them
there book partner.
That fact is YOU AIN'T NO WITCH; ifen yous was you would not drop the word
"Witch" from "Witchcraft". Which by the way reminds me when I first heard
the words "The Craft" I tghthought that had something to do with "WarCraft"
Yup, watched the movie called "The Craft". When you can start flying
around and make clouds and wind come from blue sky and shake the earth and
make ex-boy friends think your some other witch that he likes; till you can
do REAL Magic(k) like summons REAL demons or other boggy man from the
earth or ground or what not, then I will continue to view you as folks that
have one major mental problem who needs to see the shrink (yet just another
witch I guess, ... witch doctor ...).
Well in passing; I fear not your hex for mine is stronger.
Hum., now I see why men give women diamonds; according to witchcraft it
aids in healing the mental screwed up.
mm
BTW (hum that's By The Way) are there any REAL WITCHes out there? You
know, that can do real magic that has real results (ie., the boggy man does
fly out of the pentagram and does go on a known mission to a known
destination). Want-ta-be fakes need not answer.

A Wiccan stating that she/he is a Witch is similar to the following.
Please do not misunderstand that this is not a race thing. I just need some
frame of reference. In fact some of my closes friends are African American.
Wiccan stating they are Witches is identical to this:
A white woman states "I want to be black, so I think I am black, therefor I
am black"
The fact is she is still white.
The day Wiccan's can join the physical and non-physical into one world
during a ritual where spells can mainifest in the real world, then on that
day Wiccan is WitchCraft, and on that day beings of alsort can be
summons to walk the physical world, and on that day you will truely be able
to fly on a broom (without jets).
Can you convert leaves into money or turn water to wine? Bring a dead
cat run over by a truck back to life? Then you are no witch.
One more thing is passing. A True Witch will use her powers on others if
so need be.

Identical? You're even using an improper analogy. It's not even close!

Where*ever* did you get your ideas on what a Witch is? You seem to forget
that this religion existed *long* before your twisted notions became
common "knowledge" among the conquering Christian hoard. We have no need
to convert leaves into money or turn water into wine, etc. That is not
what Wicca/Witchcraft is all about, and you should have gotten the clue
by now. But, then, you're running on thrusters and not brains. I forgot.

*You're* telling *us* this? Praise be to the wisdom of Raven BlackBane
that s/he can inform us (many of whom have been practicing witches longer
that s/he has probably been alive) of what Witches do.

People get into a thing of wanting to deny their witchiness, &
then sometimes when you deny your own powers, it gets shoved
in your face. I had a horrible experience of a dead animal
(a dog, not a cat) coming back to life hours laters in terrible
pain. Shades of Pet Cemetary! But when you have powers & aren't
directing them...they can come out in negative ways.

Good Grief! Why all the negativity? No need to get your panties
in a wad, if you'll excuse me for saying so. And by the way, just how old
are YOU? Judging by your spelling, possibly not much older than the
"young ones" you are posting to! Now, don't start ranting at me, just
hear me out. When I stumbled across this it made me instantly visualize
you as a green skinned old woman with a wart on your nose! It almost
sounds like you are trying to discourage people from being interested in
Wicca at all.....kind of a load of bull, if you ask me.

Then of course there is that great spell of mine called:
IRC JAMMER
Takes weeks for an IRC server to find the poluting source only to find that
the source has moved on.
End result of the spell, everything typed comes out like trash. Humm!?
that would make the wicca channel goffy with stuff like:
lakdnfv'23ij[p;rtwefs.,/x;v9gl,
You type and others see it as above, others type and you see the same.
news, webpages, irc, great stuff, great spells to the Goddess CPU and God
RAM and all them other deities like HD, I/O, Floppy and the like.

I am posting this strickly for information reasons only. --> I <-- would
never EVER do it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Terms:
ftp-by-mail server: You e-mail it a request for files from a selected
ftp site. The server will then ftp to that site
and mail you in asc-ii form the requested files in
64k blocks. If the file is big then there are
lots of files sent back.
mail-to-news server: Just like the ftp-by-mail, you e-mail an article
you want posted and it will post it to the group
you elect.
If the return address sent to the ftp-by-mail server should be that of a
mail-to-news server the requested files would then be posted in the elected
news group.
The end result would be hords of junk posts to the point real posts would
get lost, and/or the site would just drop the group (bummer).
The above could be done as simply as typing this (between the ---):
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
telnet some.old.site.com 25
mail from: alt.relig...@news.demon.co.uk
rcpt to: bit...@pucc.princeton.edu
data
open sunsite.unc.edu
cd pub
cd Linux
cd kernel
cd v2.0
binary
get linux-2.0.27.tar.gz
quit
.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
What happens, bitftp will send news.demon 6Megs (in 64k blocks) that will
get posted to alt.religion.wicca. In short the linux kernel would get
posted.
The above "faked mail/post" can be sent as much as liked.
Hey it's your soap and it's your body, you can wash as fast as you like.
Also note the above and then the below.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
telnet some.old.site.com 25
mail from: blac...@anneli.com
rcpt to: alt.relig...@news.demon.co.uk
data
[snipp your trashy post here]
.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yea you got it, your trashy post will get posted to alt.religion.wicca and
would say it got posted by ME. Now that would make you think twice about
those other posts under my name don't it?!?
Don't mess with me, I'm on the Blood of the Moon.

hex on you.
I'm out of here. You are all pathatic fakes.

Aftermath : everyone piled up on Rbb, who felt compelled to stay, to avoid
the appearance that she had been driven off.

My filter has been sent to intercept incoming e-mail, so please
don't send any. It will be lost, and the work you put into writing
it, will go entirely to waste. Please respond by followup instead.
I hope that this causes no inconvenience. While you, yourself, are
probably a perfectly reasonable and intelligent individual, I have
found that those who answer to neither description, are extremely
fond of sending abusive "private e-mail" to people who they will
never have to face in person. As a personal choice, I've decided
to never make it easy for these people to darken my day with their
presence again. Let us see how "courageous" they are, when their
trolling can only be done, where all can see.
____________________________________________________________________________
Second, its opinions have all had a valid nugget of truth. The world as
we know it is a much nicer place than it's _ever_ been. In the history of
mankind, we have never had as large a percentage of [relately] peacefull
countries allowed to do as they please. As the world began to get
peaceful, so did we (wiccans). Like it or not, our ancestors (the
origionators of witchcraft) lived by the rule 'kill or be killed'. Hell,
our ancestors litterally wiped out an entire species of man....because he
was peacefull. Our witchy roots are covered in blood, and have been for
mellenia. But the world _is_ changing...we're stopping the mindless
eradication of races because 'they look funny, and we want their stuff'.
The buddhas keep coming back and telling us to be kewl....AND IT'S
STARTING TO WORK. But this change is so recent that from a historical
viewpoint, it's almost too small to notice. So, after thousands and
thousands of years of witchcraft being a mixture of life and death (don't
forget all those epic myths of mages and witches where the Arch-Druid guy
would whip up a fog to confuse his enemies....so his friends could kill
them.), and about 100 years of witchcraft turning to almost exclusively
nice (hell, how many times have we told somebody they aren't a witch
because they do mean things with magick?), how can one say that what we
have today is whitchcraft? Hell, why would we want to? We keep on
looking at our past with rose-colored glasses, conveniently forgetting the
crappy parts. Well, I say F that shit. I'm tired of trying to impress
both the mundanes and the awakened with a quasi-scary, important sounding
title. Who cares!? If you define witch from a historical viewpoint, then
RBB, you're damn strait I'm not a witch! I don't have the faintest clue
how to be a midwife! What's the recipe for a balm that cures syphilis?
Hell if I know! Bind a spirit? Hell no! And most of you guys don't have
a clue how to walk the dream and divine with the use of psychoactives
('cause for some _damn_ reson most of us have bought into the 'Just say
No!' crap). Maybe we should spend less time trying to be something we
don't want to be, and try being _ourselves_ for a change. Here, today, I
renounce my witchyness. I will no longer be a pawn for my king, my arts
used to slay his enemies. I will no longer call up destructive forces to
kill off the locust eating my fields. I'll no more take funds and
strength away from others, giving it to myself with a green candle and a
wave of my hand. I will be a Neo-Witch, who's purposes are the
enlightenment of people, the caring of the sick, advancement of magickal
(and scientific) knowledges, the peacefull defense of the rights of
others, and the worship and honoring of my Goddess and God. I will say as
I believe, regardless of fear of attack. I will show _all_ the Buddhas
the respect they deserve (yes, I believe in the teachings of Jesus...I'm
sorry I like trying to be nice, but you'll just have to deal with it.),
and honor their teachings with every act, word, and thought that my
imperfect human spirit can muster.
*sigh* I knew Coyote would get me ostracized some day.
Send your flames to WoodyN...@hotmail.com so others don't have to
taste of your poison. I will read them, tho I won't respond.

My turn:
For those that don't care, move on to the next posting. For those that
want to know who is telling the lies and who is telling the truth kick back
and go to dejanews.
Intro:
People will bitch, hoot, and yap about how "evil" I am, and how I've
posted or done really really bad things. But when push comes to shove and I
demand that their claims be backed up with evidence (ie., a repost of an
offensive posting or a search term for dejanews to find the posting) they'll
just back off, look the other way until the group is once again stuff full of
newbies and then they go at it again with "Let's complain to Rob or his
provider" or "Lets lie to all these newbies and get them to complain". And
then once again I demand proof and once again they just look the other way
until once again the group is yet again full of newbies only to restart the
cycle yet again.
So, I have saved this posting and will repost it from time to time as the
load of newbies on this group gets to a certain level.
This posting is on subject as proof that WitchCraft is a real thing.
Though I only use one example below, other of my scrys that people say are
back dated can also be verified in this manner.
Instructions:
You may want to print this out as it will help and then go to:
Once there, find the long box to the left of the button that says "FIND"
and type in:
alt.religion.wicca
and then click the "FIND" button. When the new page pops up, and without
clicking any buttons, go to the end of the page and look for
"Current"
Move the mouse over the down arrow just to the right of "Current" and click
and drag so it says "Old". Now next to "alt.religion.wicca", just a wee bit
above where you are, type
37 21 Supper
Then hit that "FIND" button.
Good.
Now don't hit any buttons or click any mouse keys. I want you to move the
mouse over to "Supper Bowel" (another way to say "shit") just under the word
"Subject", *DON'T CLICK*. Now look at the bottom of your screen, not the Web
page, but your screen. To the right of that Gold Key, that has a slash
through it, you will see a really long string of what looks like random text.
In it, some where in the middle, you will see
AN=211774933
The most important part of this information is "AN=211774933"
Write that down. Click your mouse button if you want to read the posting.
Note the date of the posting.
Good.
Now move your mouse all the way to the top of the Web Page and look for
"Search Filter" and click it. Now in the new page find "Group(s) and type:
alt.religion.wicca
Then skip the "Author" and "Subject" boxes, no data required there. Now in
the "Date from:" type
Jan 22 97
and in the "To:" type
Jan 23 97
then move the mouse down to "Create Filter" and click it
Now find the number in blue to the right of "Filter Size" and click that
number
GOOD!
Now move your mouse over the title of the very first posting on that screen
under "Subject". At the date of my posting you are reading now that first
title on dejanews was "Re: Should Wiccans get Legal". Now with the mouse
over that posting look once again to the very bottom of the SCREEN, not the
Page but the SCREEN to the right of that Gold Key. You should see
"AN=211348024". Now run the mouse about the titles and keep an eye on the
"AN" values, as you sill notice they increase in value.
Now then, click on "Next Results". Here you will start seeing postings
dated after 1/22/97 with lower "AN" values then my 1/22/97 posting. That's
because some of the 1/23/97 postings got to dejanews prior to mine getting
there due to inherent delays in the news system (it takes time for
the posting to hop it's way around). Many site "store" postings for awhile
and then after a certain period of collections ship them out. This is
called store and forward. Another thing is World Time. If I post something
at 11:30 *PM* on the 22nd it's the *AM* hours of the 23rd in other parts of
the world. Dejanews does not store the TIME of posting. You will notice
several postings dated 1/22/97, by others, with "AN" values greater then some
of the 1/23/97 postings. Again that's because those 1/22/97 postings were
posted late at night while the /23/97 postings were done shortly after
midnight. Anyhow, run the mouse about the titles and keep an eye on the "AN"
values and notice they generally increase.
Good, as you can see I am trying to establish that dejanews assigns
"AN" based on the order of arrival *TO* dejanews and the "AN" is *NOT* based
on any information *IN* the posting. If it was, then *ALL* of the 1/22/97
would have a "AN" lesser in value than *ANY* of the 1/23/97.
The actual time I posted "Supper Bowel" was about 11:43 PM on 1/22/97.
Now for the fun part. Go back to the top of the page and click on the
"Search Filter" once again. This time fill in "alt.religion.wicca" in the
Group(s) box, skip the Author(s) and Subject(s) and *NOW* for the "Date
From:" type in:
Jan 24 97
then move over to the "To:" box and enter:
Jan 25 97
then move down one line to the "Create Filter" and click on that box. When
a number shows up to the right of "Filter Size" click on that number to get
a page of 50 postings. Move the mouse over the titles of the postings under
the word "Subject" and slide your mouse up and down while keeping an eye on
the "AN" in the box to the right of the Gold Key.
*WOW*
all those article numbers are FAR FAR greater in value...
Go back to the same "Search Filter" and try From Jan 25 97 to Jan 26 97
and scan the titles my moving your mouse up and down and keeping an eye on
the article number. WOW they still yet increase!
Anyone care to explain to this group when the Super Bowl was played in
January and the score. Ok so it was 35/21 with Green Bay as the winner,
never said scrying was a perfect art and I am not a Goddess, only a simple
human Witch. Another thing, I tell you the truth, I knew it was 35/21 but I
had a reason to add two points to the wining score. Old timer here know
why.
There are tons more scrys that follow the same pattern in that the
"AN" are much less in value then the day of a scryed event and more
equal to other postings on the same day the scry was posted.
Review thus far:
Dejanews does *NOT* base the assignment of "AN" <article number> on date in
the postings or based on any other information in the posting, the value is
assigned in numerically increasing order *as the postings get* to dejanews.
Proof of a back dated posting by using on of Stephen Tweed's lame attempts:
Ok., now to prove that article numbers are REALLY assigned based on the
arrival order to dejanews and *NOT* based on info that is in the posting, do
the following.
Go back to the "Search Filter" and in "Group(s)" type alt.religion.wicca,
then skip the "Author(s)" and "Subject" box and in the "From:" enter
May 27 97
and then in the "To:" enter
May 27 97
and go down one line an hit the "Create Filter" button. This time *DO NOT*
click on the number, as of the date of this posting it was 213. Go into the
search box just above the number and just to the left of "FIND" and type
*ONLY*:
scry timmy liar
you don't need to type in alt.religion.wicca, then move the mouse over "FIND"
and click on that button.
Good!
Now move the mouse over the first posting titled "HERE'S A SCRY FOR YOU
TIMMY LIAR" and now look to the bottom of your SCREEN, not page, and look at
the article number for this posting "AN=244708439" also notice the date of
posting May 27, 1997
Great...
OK! go back to all those 213 postings for May 27, 1997. To do that either
by clicking previous page, the button at the very top left of your browser if
you are in Netscape, else just click on the "Search Filter" button again
and repeat the steps above with alt.religion.wicca in the "Group(s)" and
May 27 97 in the "From:" and same date in the "To:" box and then drop one
line to the "Create Filter" box and click it to get the number 213 again.
Now click that number to get a page full of postings. Now this time run the
mouse up and down the posting titles under the word "Subject". They are all
*WELL LOWER* in value than "244708439", very very much lower, in fact if you
hit "Next Results" a bunch of times, you'll find Tweed's posting at the end
of the list for 5/27/97.
Now then, go once again to the "Search Filter" box on the top of the page
and in the "Group(s)" box enter alt.religion.wicca, skip the "Author(s)" and
"Subject" and in the "From" and "To:" enter
May 29 97
then move the mouse down one line and click on the "Create Filter" button to
get a number again ("106" at the time of this posting) and move the mouse
over it and click that number. Now move the mouse up and down over the
titles under the word "Subject" while trying to keep an eye on the article
number to the right of the Gold Key at the bottom of you Screen.
*WOW*
I'd say that Stephen Tweed's May 27, 1997 posting was actually posted
May 29, 1997, two whole days latter and then back dated to make it appear
to have been posted on May 27, 1997 becuase the May 29. 1997 postings all
seem to have an "AN" around 244708439.
Now some WitchCraft that even *YOU* can do! Slide the mouse down to
posting number 17 titled "Re: Raven CAN scry" by none less the little forger
himself "Stephen Tweed". Notice the posting has a AN=244675740. Now if
you recall the back dated posting had AN=244708439. Well I'll tell you
what happened on May 29, 1997. Watch Raven BlackBane in action folks as I
will scry out the past to see just what Stephen really did on May 29, 1997.
Stephen Tweed was sitting at his computer and he read the posting
"Re: Raven CAN scry". After reading that post and responding to it, he
smiled and said "HA! I'll show that bird a thing or two.", so then he wrote
"HERE'S A SCRY FOR YOU TIMMY LIAR" and he went and changed the date on the
posting from May 29 to May 27 and posted it. In other words, he read "
RE: Raven CAN scry", responded to it, the response got to dejanews and
Tweed's response was assigned "AN=244675740". While that response was flying
around the Internet to get to dejanews, Tweed was banging out on his keyboard
a fake scry which he planed to back date. When done, he altered the date in
the posting to make it appear it as if it was posted two days sooner, and
then he hit the enter key. Off went that posting too, hopping around the
Internet and speedily getting to dejanews *AFTER* his response and his fake
back dated posting was then assigned "AN=244708439" because he posted that
one *AFTER* he posted a response to "Re: Raven CAN scry" and thus his back
dated posting got to dejanews *LATTER* and thus obtained a great "AN" value.
*WOW* what a crafty Witch I am, I saw what he did in the order he did it
while he was sitting in England and I live in the USA! I was able to see
what he did on May 29, 1997.
Well even a Witch doesn't live her life looking at the world through a
crystal ball. A good Witch also uses some common sense.
So there you have it, dejanews does not base it's article numbers on any
information within the postings but rather on the order of arrival. If a
posting is back dated, It can be easily determined as back dated, and in
like turn can be proven (inferred) *WHEN* it was really posted but looking at
other postings having the same date. If the dates are the same and the
article numbers are close, then the posting was not back dated.
*MY SCRYS ARE NOT BACK DATED*
A few other scrys are "Jolly Green Giant" posted a few days prior to a
U.S. Marine Transport Chopper crashing, "Silver is good as gold if you have
the Charm", "Die Die Princess Die", and then some spells I casted, look for
the one posted on 10/31/97 with respect to the Judge and the Au Pair. Then
there is Erika <no need to prove that wasn't backdated, folks were bitching
for a month over it *PRIOR* to the storm forming in the Atlantic she was the
biggest Hurrican for the '97 Atlantic season)>.
http://wxp.atms.purdue.edu/hurricane/atlantic/1997/index.html
Well as one person put it so nice on the IRC, "They're just bitching mad
that you have some power and they don't, and that really scares them".

No flame here. I actually thought you made sense. We don't entirely
view things the same way as I believe in the balance and - if it comes
down to it - will not hesitate to use destructive energies, methods,
etc. But, notice I said "if it comes down to it". I will avoid it if
at all possible. I agree totally with your statement on history and I
too practice the respect of the buddhas you mentioned. I still don't
much care for the RBB creature; it's attitude sux. But that's a
personal matter and really has little to do with this particular topic.
It can believe whatever it wants and I will continue to believe as I
do. Fair enough.
Was that better than a flame?
Osiris
BTW, RBB, don't bother calling me today (as you generally do when I
upset you with a post like this) I'm in California.
Loki - who just remembered also try "homo", "fag", and "spearchucker"
Yeah, you did. BTW, Joseph, your story here was thoroughly debunked by a
friendly employee of the phone company. A check of Deja News will
reveal that.
Loki
And while you're on the subject of dejanews, search for shez*@* as the
author. Seems a few months back, or so, shez was posting lots of werid
stuff.
And while on the subject, also check for Loki's claims to a Mr. Federal
prosecutor. hehe
OH! and let's not forget Erika

And then dear old Darth Muppet's admission to cancelling one of many of my
postings <yes some of the cancels are on dejanews too and yes Darth's
admission of cancelling is too on dejanews and Princess Die died the next
day; FREAKY!, and in fact there was one follow up saying how sick and
twisted I was prior to her car smashing to bits, and I'm sure many now know
who the Queen Bee is now>:
OH! Loki, you do know I delibreatly toss in a few false scrys to keep the
Secret Toads from hopping about my hutt, I like to stick the real scry among
a few dudds to keep you folks on your toes, and then of course it just might
be "Weird Luck" <snicker>:
So a close call wasn't good enough for Loki, OK!

RAVEN'S GOALS ACCOMPLISHED
A fair assessment of what's going on in these newsgroups. However,
according to Raven's words, Raven has accomplished everything she
wanted to do and has not wasted her time.
WHY RAVEN BLACKBAIN AIN'T NO TROLL
Raven belongs on alt.religion.wicca and alt.pagan because Wiccans and
many Pagans still claim to be witches. And where witches are
concerned, Raven is present to present the truth and dispell
misconceptions about witchcraft. She...
GOALS AGAIN.
1.) Forced everyone to post about Raven and focus on Raven BlackBane.
2.) Drove off the people who irritated her the most. Notice how the
people who lied about her calling them haven't posted in awhile. The
ones who still post, post less than a few messages a week.
3.) Taught everyone the difference between her style of Witchcraft and
theirs to forever abolish the notion that all Wiccans are witches.
4.) Consumed the frustration of her enemies and grew stronger even
gaining some allies.
5.) Raven BlackBane destroyed the newsgroups and rebuilt them in a
more traditional image, somewhat darker, but more realistic.
6.) Raven inspired us to start learning and doing again rather than
keep the political peace that stagnated us.
THE SECRET OF RAVEN'S POWERs
Common sense and an understanding of group and personal behavior.
Patience. She persists. She is full of knowledge. She comes from a
family tradition. She isn't afraid of the groupMind, or to speak her
own mind.
~ren, the current Elvis J.R. of the ʸ cAbAl
All of which was actually being posted by a forger.
NB- RBB claims otherwise, but the evidence to back RBB's story isn't
there.

DISCLAIMER: My opinions do not necesarily reflect those
of Loyola University's Department of Mathematics and
Computer Sciences.
To summarise what one sees, reading through Raven's posts (and
I apologise for the duplications, but it was late, and I was tired),
one would say the following :
Raven, visibly, was skeptical of the brand of witchcraft that she
perceived to be the one that she was encountering. After posting a
joke that expressed that skepticism in a very mild way, she was
massively, and gratuitously attacked, in the most insulting fashion
possible, she got angry, and things got ugly - and stayed ugly.
She then went on to satirise the silliness that she perceived,
pretending to "scry", by observing her cat's tale. Again, as
satire, not bad at all. Like none of us know people who are like
that, for real ? And she had established a skeptical context,
so one could know that this was being done tounge in cheek.
In a memorable display of cluelessness, after the time of the last
post below, people started reacting to this put on, as if it was for
real. Which, given RBB's opinion that this group is a den of idiots,
probably seemed hysterically funny, at the time. It also probably
strengthened that opinion, with good reason.
After that, it becomes hard to be sure. Either she forgot that
newbies, lacking the context found in these early posts, would be
unable to distinguish her from what she was satirising, or, as in
the case of the Discordians, what started out as a joke, became
something else. Or, perhaps, sorely provoked, she's simply declared
war on the group. Or wants to see what these people will be stupid
enough to swallow, and how far out that she has to get, before
people will get that this is satire. Or, most plausibly of all,
she's just have fun, with a group of people who sh has lost all
respect for. Who knows, just seeing this ?
I've taken more time to do this, than I care to, so I'll leave it to
the newbies, to take RBB up on her suggestion, and check this out
in Dejanews, before passing judgement. There would be no excuse for
you, now, to simply take what has been said, on faith. Even without
all of the facts, on hand, you can see that more was going on here,
than the other camp was wiling to tell you about.
Back to Darth Muppet's posting and what he cancelled. If you look on
dejanews, two other *read* and *responded* to my original posting.
Again my original posting, as repeated by Darth since the cancelled
posting didn't get to dejanews fast enough for storage, but as indicated
below, others did read and respond *AND* saved it!
As you can see Elfrey *READ* and *SAVED* a copy. She also touches on
Erika, so I will address that too. But first Darth, and then Elfrey, and
then Erika.

With her arms reaching high in the sky on a Texas shore, her long silky

these words:
"Erika! Erika! Erika!"
"From the depths of the Gulf"
"come forth and churn these"
"waters into a wall of death"
"and destruction."
Raven then tosses 1 pint of pigs blood, two raven wings, and an eye of a
bat into the salty waters which then begin to boil and steam.

OK! now go to this Web page and print out the map:
http://wxp.atms.purdue.edu/hurricane/atlantic/1997/index.html
Now as you can see, the Erika postings all started on 8/3/97, *ONE*
month to date of the storm even forming on 9/3/97.
First notice my locations, Texas <was on the Southern tip, but you can
pick any point along the Texas Shore line> and North Carolina on the Cape.
Now draw a line east from Texas and South from N. Carolina on the map, that
hits about 25/75.
Good! Now count how many pints of pig's blood, raven wings, and bat's
eyes. You'll get 10 4 2. Grid points 104 2 makes no sense (not for the
Atlantic) but 10 42 does.
Now go to the map find 10/42 and draw a line from 10/42 to 25/75. Yes I
know that's "Hurrican allie", so what, look at all the other storms for 1997
in the Atlantic.
Now notice the strength of all the other storms. *YOU* tell me which
storm was the biggest, longest living, and had the greatest travel path.
The national Hurrican center stoped tracking Erika on Sept. 15th, but the
storm marched right on up to Shez land <the UK>.
A scry? A spell? Let's see:::
While keeping the numbers 3 and 5 (also note that 5-3=2) in mind, go back
to:
http://wxp.atms.purdue.edu/hurricane/atlantic/1997/index.html
and find "Hurrican ERIKA" below the main map. Prior to clicking on
"DETAILS Tracking information", notice that this *5th* *named* storm, after
Tropical Depression FIVE, formed in the *NINTH* month (3x3) on the *THIRD*,
and tracking stopped on the 15th (3x5). Reached its full Category *3*, on
*9/9/97* <flip that date in your looking glass L6/6/6>. 5-3=2, *2*!
Click on "DETAILS" for more fun, the storm was formed on 9/3/97 at 9am with
winds at 30 knts. Look down where she was full strength at 09/09/18Z
between 09/09/15Z and 09/09/21Z and count the number of times she was a "3"
above that time and below that time, should count 6 and 3. Now multiply
those numbers, GEE! 18, maybe 18Z the time she was the strongest. Also
notice the last tracking of the storm 09/15/21Z, do keep in mind the prime
numbers 3,5,7 and multiply each by 3.
Well look the data over some more, would seem odd that the status on this
storm wasn't as random as the others, you might say she was almost guided.
OH! And for M. Smith who now will say I "hacked" into purdue, this data is
repeated everywere, and if I did "hack" into a federal site such as the
National Hurrican Center, I wouldn't be yapping about it here! None the
less, Erika was debated for a month between me Elfrey and others prior to
the storm even forming.
Well, back to the crap at hand,. YES! right, my posting had nothing to do
with Diana and Erika was just a breeze in the Atlantic, Green Bay never got
close to 37/21 in the 1997 Game <not the last one hehe>, and Silver Charm

You know, Raven's point never really got answered.
OK, here's one answer. Some of us feel, or at least suspect, that the
divinities that we worship, like to be worshipped, and have petitions
to them made, in a very specific, ritualised way. Some feel that the
effectiveness of prayer depends very much on the degree of passion that
goes into it, and find that the use of ritual helps us to bring forth
the strong emotions sought. I guess that you could call them Hassidic
pagans (the Hassidim believe much the same thing). If, for example,
as described in the "Mythology and the Divine" thread on
soc.culture.paganism, or the Meaning of Myth thread, here, you believed
in a diety who lived in a subconscious, dreamlike state, who needed to
be aroused, you might embrace this approach. (Both Jung(*), and the
Pygmies, fall into this camp, though their methodology differs
considerably).
The requirements of the ritual may seem arbitrary and illogical,
but this is simply a matter of our projecting our own likes and
dislikes, on a being who may be utterly unlike us. Does it become
unreasonable for a diety, to ask us to refrain from doing what He or
She finds unpleasant, and to do what, to the diety, is pleasurable,
when making a request, merely because the diety's preferences are not
our own ? This is not a matter of submissiveness, or a refusal to
judge, so much as a recognition that pleasure and pain are defined
not only by the stimuli causing them, but by the internal makeup
of the being experiencing them. If the makeup changes, so does the
response. To expect a diety to welcome the same sort of greeting as a
human, would be like a cat deciding that humans were all insane,
because they willingly took baths on a regular basis.
In either case, an outsider might look at the ritual, and go "Oh,
you're attempting magic". Some might take issue with this, and say
that this was no more magic, than the petitions offered at a Catholic
mass. It is the same concept. One seeks to persuade a Supernatural
entity to interven in the natural world. Even a prayer for strength
involves that, because emotional reactions are a quality describing
the biochemical reactions in one's brain, and one can't influence the
former, without influencing the latter.
Some of us, myself included, say "Whatever floats your boat. If you
want to call this "magic", go right ahead, as long as you are
consistent, and acknowledge that any petition to God, once granted,
results in magic. Or, at least, as long as the prayer is ritualised
to this degree. Myself, I'd just call it prayer." We tend to practice
what might be termed a Minimalist Paganism, rejecting most of what
are considered "Occult Practices", such as Astrology, Palm Reading,
and that sort of thing, seeking rituals that have worked for others,
from the historical record, and investing a passionate faith in them,
and a belief in their value for us, only to the extent that they seem
to work for us, individually and those we worship with. There is no
belief in any sort of personal power, being projected, but merely
a belief in those who might act on our behalf. From this point of view,
the traditional circle casting might be viewed with some curiosity.
If a diety felt like bothering, what would keep It from blowing right
through that circle ?
Still others believe that Supernatural Power resides in the human soul,
and that the Gods are the creation of our collective subconscious. Not
belonging to this camp, I can't speak for it. Actually, strictly
speaking, my brand of Paganism isn't even Wiccan, though I do have ties
to the Wiccan community, and my particular point of view, is similar
to those of some in the community.
So, you see, Raven, while it is true that someone who believed that she
had the powers of that teenaged witch on the friday night sitcom, would
be quite delusional, it is not the case that those who have passed
through here necessarily suffer from that delusion. Cindy is not about
to spread herself with "flying ointment", and expect to get off the
ground. I can understand why you were scornful, if that's what you
thought the whole community was like, and I'm not denying that some in
it are that credulous. But you would be mistaken, if you believed that
"Skeptical Pagan", or even "Skeptical Wiccan" was an oymoron. Although,
in this group, it'd be an understandable mistake.

Being a long time telephone company employee, married to a telephone
facilities engineer, I can tell you that Call Trace, like Caller ID,
_MAY_ pick up long distance numbers. Some calls may come through as
"out of area"; but other calls, ones that originate from telephone
central offices with modern switches that utilize Signalling System 7
Protocol, make _all_ information available to Call Control Option
services, such as Call Trace. If this were not the case, callers from
Florida or Wisconsin would not show up on my Caller ID unit, which they
patently do. In addition, purposely blocking Caller ID (by dialing a
code before dialing a call) will _not_ prevent Call Trace from accessing
the calling number.
Assuming that Mr. Dunphy is not trying to smear Loki, and is only trying
to get to the truth, I have to ask from whom at the local telephone
company he got his information. Did he speak to a salesperson at the
residential business office, or did he speak to a senior switchman or
engineer? Before making the kind of accusations he makes, while asking
the NG to swallow his story whole, I for one would prefer he make doubly
sure of his information.
And what is the point here, after all?

Uh, just so there are no misunderstandings, does the above mean that you
are once again threatening to kill my child?
Does it also mean you have already attempted to kill her?
Loki
The point is you have the number to a pay phone, *BIG* deal.
I was just trying to figure out what you were saying. There have been
no close calls in my life or in the life of anyone I care about.
I couldn't figure out what you were talking about. I still can't.
You're calling *what* as you see them?

It struck me, that someone might draw the mistaken conclusion, that
the post about "Magic" was a flame. No, definitely not. So, here it is,
with the assurance that it is nothing of the sort. Merely a calm bit
of metaphysical speculation, nothing more. A brief explanation of who
the Pygmies are, has been added. Yes, they are a real people.
As for why I don't delete the first one, given the situation, it might

(1) A native tribe in Africa, in Zaire, I believe, though I don't have
the reference in front of me, and can't be sure of the country that
they are located in. They are noted for their short stature (about
3'- 4' at maturity), and arouse some interest in Anthropology
classes, because their life cycle is not precisely what is thought
of as the "usual" human life cycle, serving as an example of just
how much more variation there is in the human gene pool, then people
in our culture are often predisposed to believe. Full sexual
maturity, and adulthood, comes at around 9, and it is rare for the
members of the tribe to live past 40, unfortunately.
That this seems hard to believe to us, really says more about our
culture, than it does about the Pygmies, who find their own life
cycle to be perfectly natural. Human populations in Africa are often
separated from their neighbors on the continent by as much as
200,000 years, the Pygmies themselves having inhabited their forest
for 30,000 years - plenty of time for noticable changes in
physiology to occur, to say nothing of striking cultural
differences.
Perceptual as well. The forest that they live in, is quite dense,
and long unobstructed views don't exist in it. As a result, the
dwellers in the forest have little experience with visual
perspective, and when they emerge, are often noted to view the
illusion of objects shrinking, as they move away, with amazement
- and skepticism, should the object start out a distance, and be
described as large. The message to the student, is to be very
careful, about what takes for granted, when studying a people
whose background may be very different from one's own. You never
know what the next surprise is going to be.
As I recall, the tribe practices a sort of pantheism, worshipping
the forest that it lives in. They believe that the spirit of the
forest is most often asleep, and in times of danger, must be
awakened. In this belief, lies the origin of some of their ritual
drum music. They believe that the music must be loud, to awaken the
forest.
Sadly, their gentle world view will probably lead them to
extinction. Their short stature, a major survival advantage in
an environment in which the food supply is quite uncertain, puts
them at a disadvantage in battle. If invaded by a hostile tribe,
their manner of prayer will give away their position. In these days
of helicopters, chainsaws, and field rations, those tribes can
penetrate the forest far more easily, and rapidly, than they once
could. Unless one shares their faith in the spirit they worship,
or at least in the continued effective benevolence of the Central
government, one is left with the conclusion that either their
culture or their population, will suffer grievous harm in the not
so distant future, as hungry and growing populations around them
look at their forest, as a potential, and much needed, bit of
farmland.

Alt.censorship is welcomed to this thread, which started on
alt.religion.wicca and alt.pagan. The initial post is quoted
below in its entirety. This thread has gone on at some length,
in the original groups. I think that you will find that this
is one of the more shocking cases that you have encountered,
though, sadly, far from unique, as the lynch mob mentality
takes hold, in much of the US, especially on campuses, and
online. I wouldn't care to speculate on whether "much" should
be replaced by "most" in that last comment, but it's hard
not to wonder, sometimes.

More's the pity, the url for the Midwestern Pagan FAQ page
didn't produce the expected link, in the copy on Dejanews.
Oh, well......
As for why I didn't cut the page clutter, it was late, I was
tired, and I wanted to go to bed.
I assume, by now, that we've seen the usual fanatical tirades,
engaged in by people who were incredibly "offended" (read, pissed
off) that I would dare to question the group consensus ? I ask,
because I stopped reading what a number of these people had to
say, months ago. I never got any useful information, or any
intelligent thoughts out of them, just a lot of irate fuming, and
off base personal attacks, and saw no reason to allow these people
to continue to spoil my mood, by reading these childish attempts
by others to browbeat me into thinking as they do. It consumes
energy better devoted to other things.
It's a pretty good illustration of what Political Correctness is
all about, though. An attempt to shield weak ideas from scrutiny,
by terrorising the listener into refraining from questioning them,
and counting on a combination of the support of those who, never
hearing a contrary position, won't think of (or know) what is
wrong with the comment in question, AND maybe a mild case of the
Stockholm Syndrome, in which those reduced to terrified
powerlessness, eventually identify with those doing this to them.
It is fascism, plain and simple, and our society, for all of its
posturing in support of "rugged individualism", encourages the
docility that makes it work.
Even so, for shame, if anyone would attempt to silence the
exposure of an outrage that this group attempted, by such tactics.
Hey, don't take my word, for any of this. Go check, and see that
Loki was posting from Infilink. Find out where Infilink was
located. Now, look into dejanews, and note that some of the
same people who were pushing for Blackbane's arrest, acknowledged
that she was posting from North Carolina. Now call Southwestern
Bell, in Ft. Worth, Texas, and ask for Customer service, and ask
if Call Trace will allow someone in Missouri, to find a number in
North Carolina. The answer will be no.
There is nothing to debate here. Someone is "offended" by this ?
Good, because if he is reacting to this thwarting of an attempt
to fabricate evidence, with this kind of Rednecked fury, he badly
needs to be offended. He needs to be taught that he can't get just
anything he wants, by trying to intimidate people into giving it
to him. Discovering this, and having this discovery shoved in his
face, so he gets it, on an emotional level, will be a growing
experience for him. The fact that he would try to drown out the
exposure of such crimes, by getting his friends to howl in
outrage, and try to bully newcomers into not checking the facts
for themselves, speaks far more eloquently about the character of
such a "man", than I would ever imagine that I could.
Trying to get a lynch mob going is * wrong * , period. Anyone who
finds himself freaked out, by the fact that someone has asked him
to consider the possibility that such an effort was unjustified,
and has presented evidence to back this assertion up, needs
psychotherapy far more than he needs indulgence.
End of subject. Deal with it.
Joseph B. Dunphy
PS. Raven, if these lunatics actually try to prosecute, send me a note,
via my ISP, and I will be glad to fill out an affadavit describing
what I saw.
Newcomers - once you see what these people are willing to resort to,
in order to silence someone whose point of view they don't like,
and the hysteria that results when such an effort is questioned, ask
yourself if this is the kind of place that you want to be. Do you
want to hang around in a forum, where people are this willing to get
this ruthless, over so little, and legitimise it, by your continued
presence ? There are healthier places, to have a discussion. If the
rest of us back away, and let the crazies have this one, exclusively,
eventually it will be taken no more seriously than Talk Radio,
and will have as little impact on public perceptions of anything.

:
: The truth can easily be found by a search on Dejanews, back to Raven's
: first appearance on this group, on January 9, 1997. As Raven
: him/her/themselves make clear, RBB is no Wiccan, and doesn't believe in
: magic, in any way, shape or form. Everything that you see online is one
: long, protracted joke that people are coming in on, in the middle.
: A joke that has long since gotten out of hand, and sucked its creator in,
: to the point of consuming much of her (?) life.
:
: As the responses following this first post below clearly illustrate, and

: Raven's readiness to get crude, and this group's uptight attitudes,

:
: So, am I saying that Raven is a troll, who is generally annoyed with the

:
: Much later than the time covered by these posts, below, before I was aware

:
: Wait a minute. Step back. How did they know that it was Raven Blackbane ?
:
: I had my doubts at this point, and before people could get their stories
: straight, I asked Loki, one of the women who was doing this, how she knew.
: Carelessly, she wrote that she had used call trace. I then called her
: local phone provider, to see if her story could, even theoretically, be
: true. They said there was no way. Call Trace from Missouri, can't locate a
: phone on the East Coast. Loki was lying. I had suspected as much, held
: onto all documents, and sent them along to RBB.
:
: Well, there's something to think about, huh ? People were ready and eager

: unjustly incarcerate someone that they just happened to personally
: dislike. Now, if you take a look, this is not a lovable person, to be
: sure. But, what of it ? How could that possibly justify what was
: attempted, here ?
:
: "What about the e-mail ?", one might ask. Here's a little trick, you can
: try. Go into lynx, go over to Dejanews, and use the option to e-mail an
: author. Notice that it allows you to choose which e-mail address your
: letter claims to be originating from. You can pretend to be anyone you
: want. Anyone with a web browser can play a similar game.
:
: With a little more on line sophistication, posts can be forged, too.
:
:
: So, who's the troll, really ? There was more than a slightly fascist
: undertone to what was occuring. "Stop saying things that we don't like,
: or we'll find an excuse to put you in prison". Well, Sieg Hiel ! It's a
: frightening thing, how eager people are becoming, to do such things.
:
: So, my advice, if you're new here ? Killfile the whole bunch. RBB can't
: let go of a joke that was funny, but has run out of steam. The rest are a
: bunch of pushy morons, who keep trying to browbeat RBB into leaving,
: unable to grasp the basic notion that if someone says "If you keep fucking
: with me, I'm going to make life unpleasant for you", getting in his face,
: at that point, is counterproductive. No, they want to power play. They
: don't want RBB to simply get bored, and wander off. They want to be seen
: driving her off. "Do as we say, or you'll wish you had". What they just
: don't get, is that in doing so, they make it a matter of saving face, for
: her to stay, and defy them.
:
: And so it continues.
:
: After you killfile RBB, >just on this group<, killfile everyone on the
: group who follows up to her, or refers to her, >just on this group<.
: Yeah, sure, me too, why not. RBB was the last bit of unfinished business
: that I found lying around on Dejanews, so I have no reason to be back.
:
: And don't get involved. Nothing but headaches await you, in that
: direction. Here's something you might want to try. Go to the Midwestern
: Pagan FAQ page at
:
:
: (Cool, I've always wanted to do that :). On the copy of this post in
: Dejanews, that reference will turn into a hotlink taking you directly
: to that page.)
:
: Once there, look up the questionnaire for determining whether or not
: you've just joined a cult. Then apply the criteria from that
: questionnaire, to this group. To back away from the group that I'm warning
: you away from, can easily be seen to be your healthiest choice, if only
: from a psychological point of view. Unless you make the mistake of telling
: these people where you live, and they show up, perhaps. But let's not go

: Seriously, are you folks for real? Does dancing nude under a full moon in
: your backyard really turn you on? Are all thruster working up there, or is
: everyone ready for the rubber farm? I mean come on be for real, chanting
: to a tree or a rock while yapping to invisible god(dess) that is/are not there
: in the pitch black dark doesn't seem all that normal to me. KNOCK, KNOCK,
: KNOCK, hello anybody up there or is Mr. Gray-Matter on vacation.
: I have NO religion short of the 1st Amendment, not Christian nor Satanic or
: Jewish or any other. So don't take this as some religious evangelist coming
: on to you folks. Nor is this a flame bait to freak you out. No in fact,
: I'm getting one hell of a good laugh out of reading this group. So much so I
: would like to know where in the Northern Virginia Area I can walk into one
: of your mentally disturbed Wicca stores so I can have a bursting good
: laugh looking at all your want-to-be-a-witch stuff. You know: the oils and
: candles and yes those "jet powered brooms"; I gotta have one of those; always
: wanted to go to the moon on one of them.
: Sit back and look at yourself. Does all this traditional ranting and
: raving type rituals really obtain any end result? Does the boggy man
: really wuussshh out of your pentagram and vanish over the horizon on some
: unknown mission and destination. This is pathetic, you folks need some real
: mental help here. You know living in some sort of fantasy is not
: healthy. Don't you think it's time you permently ground yourselves. Trust
: me, those god(dess) you THINK are out there [really they ain't] will not
: mind if you just leave them in peace and quit bugging them.
: Have you ever walked down the street and seen one of them homeless folks
: ranting and raving to themselves or to some invisible buddy and you think the
: poor fellow has lost it. Take a good hard look in the mirror and I will
: assure you in there glazing back is that same poor old fellow.
: Yup, got such a good hard laugh at how many of this Earth's population has
: moved on to that great Wacco Farm I just had to get "To Ride A Silver
: Broomstick" by Silver RavenWolf and read on. Yeah, even picked me out a
: nice name that you folks would just love "Raven BlackBane". Well
: anyhow (am I raving on?; geezz thought you were use to this; you are ain't
: you? I mean raving at the moon seems all to normal for you) I read the book
: from front to back and then had to go to the Emergency room as my laughter
: ruptured my spleen. In fact I should have started from the end of the book
: which lists several Wicca contacts; Ohm yeah all American On Line. Well
: golly-be that explains it all right there. Every one knows that only folks
: from Saint Elisabeth uses AOL. I give the book only one good mark; the witch
: (I guess) on the front cover ain't all that bad looking. But if you really
: look at her, notice how sadly lost she appears. Her eyes glazing endlessly
: in a dark void only lit by the full moon in hopes of finding something that
: just never is there (and never will you freaks from some strange circus). Yup,
: this poor old lonely witch must be color blind as her broom sure as hell
: ain't silver.
: Who ever she has been milking has really dragged her tits down to her hip;
: maybe that's why she is so sad. Now going on to the next figure/picture
: (page xiv); what the hell is this; witches were uniforms and metals; looks
: like a bloody Russian outfit. Well the other figures are just as bad. I
: notice the one on page 276. Women like "PAM"s; ain't PAM a name of a girl?
: If girls like things called PAM doesn't this figure have some sub-mental
: meaning like queer. Whatever.
: Look the fact is, Wicca (which should be WACCO) is for the mental
: disturbed; folks that just have failed to get a true grasp on reality and
: some how let it split through their oily hands.
: What is "Merry Meet" and "Harm none, do as you please" (remember telling my
: sysop how peed-off you are about this is post is harming me so don't be a
: hippocrit since I am doing as I please by smashing the bloody truthful
: reality in your face some what harshly is not harming you).
: O.K., this is how I see it all. You know this all a bunch of B.S. I am
: giving you the beniffit of the doubt and assume that your candles are all
: lit in the right places. It sort of a Dungeon and Dragon type of thing, you
: have your fun, do your dance and then leave knowing it was all in fun and
: excitement knowing full well that there is no such things as Aphrodite,
: Aradia, Arianrhod, or them watch towers buggers. You know full well that
: amulets, herbs, and spells will not protect you but rather resort to mace or
: a gun if harm comes by. You telling me a stupid amulet will ward off some
: Ape looking thief. Yea right, he'll snatch it right out of your hand and
: smack you up sine the head with that stone. Now I'll agree herbs will
: (might) heal you since most median is based on such. No crystal balls will
: tell you nothing that ain't already in your sick head. And just why the
: hell is it called web weaving? I call it one psycho hunting down another.
: Yea the one I like the most is "The book of shadows", man now that gets
: my wilily just will-lying. I mean I am so scared that my shaking hands can
: make really good marteenies. Don't tell me you have skeletons in them
: there book partner.
: That fact is YOU AIN'T NO WITCH; ifen yous was you would not drop the word
: "Witch" from "Witchcraft". Which by the way reminds me when I first heard
: the words "The Craft" I tghthought that had something to do with "WarCraft"
: Yup, watched the movie called "The Craft". When you can start flying
: around and make clouds and wind come from blue sky and shake the earth and
: make ex-boy friends think your some other witch that he likes; till you can
: do REAL Magic(k) like summons REAL demons or other boggy man from the
: earth or ground or what not, then I will continue to view you as folks that
: have one major mental problem who needs to see the shrink (yet just another
: witch I guess, ... witch doctor ...).
: Well in passing; I fear not your hex for mine is stronger.
:
: Hum., now I see why men give women diamonds; according to witchcraft it
: aids in healing the mental screwed up.
:
:
: mm
:
:
: BTW (hum that's By The Way) are there any REAL WITCHes out there? You
: know, that can do real magic that has real results (ie., the boggy man does
: fly out of the pentagram and does go on a known mission to a known
: destination). Want-ta-be fakes need not answer.

: A Wiccan stating that she/he is a Witch is similar to the following.
: Please do not misunderstand that this is not a race thing. I just need some
: frame of reference. In fact some of my closes friends are African American.
:
: Wiccan stating they are Witches is identical to this:
:
: A white woman states "I want to be black, so I think I am black, therefor I
: am black"
:
: The fact is she is still white.
:
: The day Wiccan's can join the physical and non-physical into one world
: during a ritual where spells can mainifest in the real world, then on that
: day Wiccan is WitchCraft, and on that day beings of alsort can be
: summons to walk the physical world, and on that day you will truely be able
: to fly on a broom (without jets).
: Can you convert leaves into money or turn water to wine? Bring a dead
: cat run over by a truck back to life? Then you are no witch.
:
: One more thing is passing. A True Witch will use her powers on others if
: so need be.

: Where*ever* did you get your ideas on what a Witch is? You seem to forget
: that this religion existed *long* before your twisted notions became
: common "knowledge" among the conquering Christian hoard. We have no need

: I am posting this strickly for information reasons only. --> I <-- would

:
: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
: Terms:

: ftp-by-mail server: You e-mail it a request for files from a selected
: ftp site. The server will then ftp to that site
: and mail you in asc-ii form the requested files in
: 64k blocks. If the file is big then there are
: lots of files sent back.
:
: mail-to-news server: Just like the ftp-by-mail, you e-mail an article
: you want posted and it will post it to the group
: you elect.
:
: If the return address sent to the ftp-by-mail server should be that of a
: mail-to-news server the requested files would then be posted in the elected
: news group.
: The end result would be hords of junk posts to the point real posts would
: get lost, and/or the site would just drop the group (bummer).
:
: The above could be done as simply as typing this (between the ---):
: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
: telnet some.old.site.com 25
: mail from: alt.relig...@news.demon.co.uk
: rcpt to: bit...@pucc.princeton.edu

: cd Linux
: cd kernel
: cd v2.0
: binary
: get linux-2.0.27.tar.gz
: quit
: .
: -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
:
: What happens, bitftp will send news.demon 6Megs (in 64k blocks) that will
: get posted to alt.religion.wicca. In short the linux kernel would get
: posted.
: The above "faked mail/post" can be sent as much as liked.
:
:
: Hey it's your soap and it's your body, you can wash as fast as you like.
:

:
: Also note the above and then the below.
: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
: telnet some.old.site.com 25
: mail from: blac...@anneli.com
: rcpt to: alt.relig...@news.demon.co.uk
: data
: [snipp your trashy post here]
: .
: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
:
: Yea you got it, your trashy post will get posted to alt.religion.wicca and
: would say it got posted by ME. Now that would make you think twice about
: those other posts under my name don't it?!?

Which in turn makes me ask, who was lying? I read this as an admission

talking through a LARGE hat. And I am being as charitable as I can.

If anyone on alt.censorship is interested I advise them to go to Deja

Raven BlackBane is all about. Joseph defends this???

staff, the results aren't debatable. Loki's provider is Missouri
based. Now take the area code, from the telephone number given
in the partial web download that I'm about to share with you,
and call 555 - 1212 in that area code. Ask them for the name of
the local service provider for that area code. Note that they'll
say "Southwestern Bell". Call headquarters in Ft. Worth, and ask
them. Is it possible to call trace to North Carolina, from
Missouri.
Sorry, but it's not debatable. Loki is posting from a Missouri
based ISP. Check the Web page yourself, if you don't believe me.

Now, here is where Raven Blackbane's ISP is. In this post from Dejanews,
Loki acknowledges that this, indeed, is where anneli is located, though
tries to claim that RBB is anneli. I don't know about that. Note that it
is well outside the territories of both Southwestern Bell, and Ameritech,
the provider for Illinois, next door to Loki's home territory.
Like I said, it's not debatable.

Now that it looks like Loki has attempted to pull a bit of fraud,
here, you might want a copy of this post, before she has a chance to
change her story, again.
It would seem clear, at this point, that justice is not her primary

Intriguing logic, in that last sentence. "Really, Joe, we wouldn't attempt
to railroad them, if they'd just admit their guilt". Great.
That letter should have been logged, both by Inlink and Xnet, and along
the way. The conclusion is inescapable, Loki lied, in an attempt to either
put someone in prison, or at least create the imminent fear of this
occuring, by pretending that she was doing so. People were willing and
eager to go along with this, in large numbers.
That's far more frightening, than anything that Raven Blackbane ever
posted, by quite a margin.

That would be no excuse. If she had a supicion of where the calls

Actually, I *did* file a report with my local police. They were very
kind and very interested in pursuing the case. Unfortunately, they
didn't have the resources to devote to it.
My friendly local police officer *did* call the FBI with the case and
they said that "if the harassment got worse" they'd pursue it.
It "got worse" when RBB went after Elfrey both calling her and filing
false reports against her.
As to RBB not being in jail? Did it ever occur to you morons the
investigation could still be going on? I mean, RBB just kept giving
them stuff to investigate.
Loki
I already did killfile him. I just didn't want anyone on alt.censorship
to take him seriously or not know the other side, that's all.
I won't be responding to him anymore.
Loki
You know, Joseph, I don't really have anything against you - although
you side with RBB that *is* your right and I have no cause to complain
about that. What I *do* have cause to complain about is your senseless
flooding of the NG and your INCREDIBLE waste of bandwidth. I have an
idea - to save bandwidth, why don't you post *all* of this DejaNews
rehashed garbage on a web page. Then send a message that says, "If you
want to know how truly innocent RBB is, look here". You would save
everyone here the tedious chore of having to see 30 posts that not only
look the same and say the same thing, but that we don't really care
about. I have searched DejaNews on my own, and anyone that cares enough
about the situation will do the same. Take your stand and your views on
whomever you wish on the NG, and say whatever you want about it, but
*please* keep the messages under 2 pages long unless you have something
*on-topic* to say. Nobody here is even interested in RBB, and there's
no point in trying to insight more flames. I can assure you, if I
wasn't against killfiles myself *you* would be the first, and I probably
would never killfile RBB, if that tells you just how irritating this
garbage is. Please, for the sake of those that aren't interested (there
are many), quit posting this trash.

A point which a newcomer might be unclear on, and Loki, Mike Smith,

Oops ! It would seem that Elfrey was no Southerner, at least by current
residence at the time. In fact, she was a fellow Chicagoan, practically a
neighbor. Meaning that her local telephone service provider, like mine,
was Ameritech. Call Ameritech's corporate headquarters here in Chicago,
and ask them if what I am about to tell you is true. Call trace on a
Chicago phone, won't find a phone where Blackbane is located
(Virginia/North Carolina area).
Elfrey was lying, herself. No wonder she asked me to drop the subject.
If Blackbane really did post that horrific comment, about Ben being "worm
food", I can understand why she would try to get him put in prison. If it
was my kid, I'd probably feel like slicing RBB's head(s) off at that
point. I can understand - but I can't approve. Fabricating evidence in
support of a trumped up stalking charge is a criminal act, and it's wrong,
no matter how insensitive someone was.
Oh, and here's a happy thought - we've already seen the principals, other
than Raven Blackbane, engaged in fraud. And, we already know that posts
can be forged, as Mike Smith proves, every time he forges a cancel on one
of Raven Blackbane's posts. We know, from the mockery of this group that
RBB engaged in, in that download I put on the opening thread, and a
perusal of the followups, and subsequent replies to RBB, that there was
bad blood.
How do we know that RBB even made the post about Ben, at all ? If Elfrey
and Loki are already known to have lied about the Call traces in question,
how much of a reach is it, to suspect that they might have had such a post
forged, in order to play on the sympathies of the group, for a bereaved
mother, and drum up hostility against someone who they already hated ?
Would anyone seriously try to claim, that such behavior is unheard of ?
Loosen the ropes, and go home, people, and you know who you are. You've
brought disgrace upon yourselves.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Side note : In going through Dejanews this morning, I saw a followup by
Mike Smith to one of my posts, I believe the third one,
about "Evidence of Loki's guilt". Yet, this post doesn't
appear on screen. Almost as if someone was running a test, to
see if a cmsg cancel would remove an old post from the
archives at Dejanews ? Which I can only hope, is not the case.
Is that true, Mike ? Would you be capable of trying to pull
something like that ? Destruction of evidence, in a potential
trial in criminal court ? I sure hope not, for your sake. If
so, let me remind you of one little aspect of the law. If you
commit a crime, like say, obstruction of justice, for example,
that crime constitutes a new offense in every sovereign
jurisdiction in which part of its commission occurs. Meaning,
that if you attempt to destroy evidence, online, it becomes
quite conceivable that you could be tried, in sequence, in the
court systems of all 50 states (if you reach archives in each
of them), as well as federal court, without the double
jeopardy protection in the Bill of Rights coming into play.
If you were to receive as little as 1 year in each of the
courts, taking parole into account, that would translate into
51 years in prison, meaning that you wouldn't be seeing the
streets until the year 2047. That's a pretty high price to
pay, to back someone up in a flamewar.
So don't even think about it, OK ?
