A good friend of mine, Bernardo Arragon, owns and operates a number of
religion-oriented message boards. One of his boards,
BuddhistBoards.com, has become an extremely popular board for those of
the Buddhist "lineage." His newest project, CatholicBoards, has

Originally, there had been a BB at this (chaosad) site, which has
since disappeared. Li* etc., called on his own site 'ExploiTeD', was
hopeless as a BB admin. He ranked you when you registered. Until you
reached a certain number of posts, you were deemed 'Worthless', and
the statment "I'm worthless" appeared to the left of your post, right
under your name and avatar.
I think the choice of such an individual for a moderator says much
about the character of BA himself. It has become VERY CLEAR that he
is not a Buddhist, and doesn't have a clue about interactions in a
real Buddhasangha. At the moment, he's got the Triketomorphs licking
his deleted anatomy on a regular basis, but that's because, since the
demise of Trike, Zen Forum, and American Buddha, they haven't got a
lot of choices, unless they want to get literate and come to Usenet.
I'll give him six month before he can't stand the endless complaining
and decides that he's really a Catholic after all. And then the poor
Triketoids will be homeless again . . .

BA and I have been having a desultory conversation on that BB which
basically amounts to: "Bernardo, you're a control freak, you're a
walking, talking <i>de facto</i> abridgement of my civil rights as an
American, and when all is said and done, I just don't like you,"
i.e., a pretty normal American Buddhist discussion.
I have endorsed this chaosad BB on my Yahoo group*, and I'll endorse
it here for the same reason: I am convinced that the Buddhist
Cybersangha desperately needs alternatives to BA's dreary
Triketoid-trap, no matter how marginal those alternatives may seem at
the moment.
"eXploiTeD", of chaosad ( covertoperations@ hotmail.com ) has
convinced me that althought he's emotionally confused, he at least is
not totally stupid -- a vast improvement over the other BB
'webmasters' I've known. I hope that everyone will check out his
board.

You don't know me and probably never will. I'm a very bottom dweller
on the Buddhist food chain by name of fogueira. I wasn't a member of
Trike and I barely got to communicate with anyone on BBoards. I have
no damn idea whether Mr. Aragon is a control freak or not, but it is
very disconcerting to wake up in the morning and not have a forum and
have to go run around and discover that it had suddenly died due to
gossip and backstabbing. I was trying to do a search to see if a
friend of mine had left a message within the last week, as I was
concerned that he might have committed suicide. It's this high handed
back-stabbing petty attitude that offends the hell out of me, be it
Buddhist, Catholic, Jewish, or none of the above. I've been told that
my means are totally unskillful, but I no longer care. I hope you
work it out. Meanwhile, I hope my friend is still alive.

PS In my embryonic state of Buddhist, or other spiritual
understanding, who are you to call anything dreck? Sounds like petty
judgmentalism to me. Arent y'all supposed tobe in the peacemaking
business?

I'm sorry about your distress, and Ihope your friend is still alive
too. In respose to the triketastrophe, the Carreons have re-opened
their Buddhist BB, with the apparent intention of absorbing the grief.
It is really too early to tell, but it looks to me like that is where
the lost Triketomorphs, and BudBoardomorphs are going to swarm to.
The Carreons are kind of yupped and eccentric, in terms of Buddhism,
but they're human beings and are better, by a longshot, than the BA
thing. Find their board at:

And good hunting, OK? This kind of spasm is pretty normal for
Buddhist BBs. Go over there and issue a cry of pain and complaint
against me. I guarantee you'll get a sympathetic audience. And when
all that grief and stupidity is considered normal, the anal-angel will
probably bring his board back up, just to prove how inhuman he can be.
It happens.

Well, shucks and gee-willikers! I'm just your friendly local
neighborhood Pure Land Buddhist, chanting away for birth from a lotus.
This defiled world just is not worth getting concerned about. It's
clear to me that peace is beyond it's capacity, and personally,
*consciousness* is about all I can manage with respect to it.
