I have a custom built PC with an HP DVD100i drive running WinXP and
recently the pc will sometimes slow down and then have issues shutting
down due to a task called tfswctrl.exe. This task appears to be part
of the HP DLA application (similar to Roxio's DirectCD) and is loaded
up at startup regardless of whether or not I am using DLA.

I know that DLA is incompatible with DirectCD, and therefore have
never installed DirectCD on this machine. Perhaps there are other
conflicts that I should be aware of. Hopefully someone else has seen
this problem and knows a work around.

Thanks,
Todd

It is part of DLA. You can prevent it from starting up when the
system boots by turning it off via the configuration editor program
(msconfig.exe) startup tab. However, when you want to use DLA you'll
have to run tfswctrl.exe first.
