No audio in clip recorded from DV camcorder in DV-AVI format

Hi, all

When I capture a clip from my DV camcorder in DV-AVI format, the video is
fine, but there's no audio! If I select another format (like the preset High
Quality) the clip does have audio - so it doesn't look like this is a
problem with my camcorder or Firewire card.

I'm running WMM 1.2.2541.0 on Windows XP Pro.

Any ideas?

Are you using a Cannon ZR20 by any chance?
Also - Have you recorded your tape in any "special" way - For example,
did you hook up your VCR to your DV camera to create your tape? I vaguely
remember seeing a report of an issue between the Cannon ZR20s and the MS-DV
Splitter, when the audio on the tape is mono, or if only one of the audio
jacks were plugged in when the tape was created......

It's a Canon ZR25 - a sibling of the ZR20 - but the video was recorded live,
not via the line in. Ulead Video Studio captures the video with sound.

One thing I noticed is that Ulead captures it as DV type 1, whereas WMM
captured it as DV type 2. And I believe the main difference between type 1
and 2 is the way audio is handled.

I couldn't find a setting in WMM to control how the video is captured...

i have canon zr25
I installed XP just last night and first time I tried it there was no sound
! But then I tried again and the sound is there..so its kind of strange.
I've only using it few times so I can't tell if it's somehow fixed or if
there will be more issues with it later..
