I am searching for the material properties of the aluminum alloy A5182.
It is apparently not a standard alloy as there is no record of it in any
of the ASTM texts here on campus (UIUC). IF anyone knows the material
properties of this alloy can you please write to
csen...@ux4.cso.uiuc.edu. Also, if the reference material where the
properties may be found is known, will you please include that
reference.

Thank you from a now desperate undergrad,

Adam Senalik

Dear Adam,

Don't know if the alloy will be there, but you might try Metal Suppliers
Online at:

http://www.suppliersonline.com

If the alloy isn't listed, try searching for a Producer of a close grade
and contact the producer directly and speak to one of their
metallurgists.

Hope this helps.

Adam,
You have experience with this alloy. It is used in soda can lids. The
deeply drawn bodies are 3004. It is a wrought alloy, 4.5% MG with yield
strengths as high as 57 ksi in the H19?? condition. Also as low as 19ksi
in the 0 condition. The 0 condition is used for beverage cans.

Not quite so exotic, huh?

Hope this helps,

Seth Allen
