A little help with the background on this series?
Opinions on it if you've already seen the first ep?

It's from the creative team behind Ojamajo Doremi. Shoujo adventure series
from the looks of the first episode, vaguely Patapata/Nadia-esque. I don't
think it's going to delve into magic/supernatural stuff at all - much more a
romance adventure from the looks of the OP, though there is a mysterious
masked guy and lots of roses...

I rather enjoyed the first ep (subbed by Live-evil) - it's very whimsical,
and places are extremely cute (the lions! the eyecatches! the ending
sequence!), though it remains to be seen whether it's as interesting as it
starts - the circus troupe seem well characterised, and Nadja isn't
particularly annoying.

I agree; this seems inspired by Nadia: Secret of Blue Water,
but is shoujo, and Jean has been replaced by two guys
she has grown up with. Also, she is championed by a stallion
riding variant of Tuxedo Mask. Also, her medallion is red
instead of blue, and she was raised in a proper English
orphanage which taught such useful things as responsibility
and social skills. And she is pursued by two thugs whose
mother should have laid off the booze; they are clearly
suffering from Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. (Inability to link
actions with consequences.)

Nadia is another well-respected series I need to check
out someday. But I thought of Patapata on first instinct;
a period piece with the cast travelling about the world,
while being pursued by some nefarious characters. I
didn't place the artwork, but it does have that Doremi
look to it. They did a good job in the first ep of giving
that "epic" feel to it.... if felt like a major production in
the way they blocked out the story and introduced the
characters, almost more of a movie feel than a television
show feel, if that makes any sense.

I feel the show has taken a variety of footage from
many anime and novels. For instance, it looks like
Nadia in "Oliver Twist" world with settings from Kiki
and Tutu!? It even reminds me of "Garasu no Kamen"
a bit. And, the name of orphanage is Apple Field that
should have been delived from Strawberry Field, a
Beetles' fame. I have watched two episodes, but I'm
not sure how the staff could concentrate on a good
story yet.

CG is really superb. Look at the dance hall scene in
the OP. Everybody in the hall moves. The background
artwork is good enough and better than Doremi that
made by the same staff and production. The OP and
ED songs are charming.

In a CM, you can see "Naja narikiri set" (complete
transformation kit) for preteen girls. Those kits are
ubiquitous among girls' show such like Doremi,
Commet-san, Tokyo Mewmew etc.

So, it's an ordinary girls' show with too much elements
stuffed. Since Doremi was a good show, Naja could be
a good show if the staff can handle everything properly.
