CosmoPlayer WAS the best VRML plugin in its time. CosmoPlayer is dead now...
But VRML isn't. There are people working to make it alive. So help them :
stop to use and recommend CosmoPlayer! Use and recommend living software
made by living people for a living VRML !

Good, proper ( and portable ) VRML runs on multiple players.
New solutions include a new support from Korean companies
using Java3d and the code from the popular and still widely
used Cosmo Player ( from SGI / Silicon Graphics ), now with
new improvements and current ( and future ) support.
Cosmo is one of the oldest, most popular, most widely used
VRML Players ... and the popular Cosmo VRML player has been
updated & reborn ...

Bzzzt ... wrong answer.
The popular Cosmo VRML Player has been reborn,
The popluar Cosmo Player is now supported by a new company.
Please don't repleat the 'there are only two' lie.
The VRML standard should be used, and it runs on
mulitple players including both Java3d and 'plain' Java.

If anything ... don't bother with Javascript ...
for complex animations ... use a modern object-oriented
languages like Java & Java3d for your VRML animations.
Sun created VRML Loaders for Java3d and they work well,
they can be used to animate Web3d H-Anim Avatars ...

After reading your message, I've just tested the new CosmoPlayer : Pivoron.
I'm very happy because the CosmoPlayer's legacy isn't lost.
The player is quite good, like CosmoPlayer (with some of its faults, and
with some improvements).
So now, I'm waiting for the next release of Pivoron, living software...

Thanks for this advice 8-(
I can't.
Unlike Cosmoplayer, Pivirons player do not match my systems.
> The popular Cosmo VRML Player has been reborn,

It looks like, only the M$Windows Version of the Cosmo Player is now
supported by a new company.
Are there any informations about the beta MAC port ?
And the IRIX version is still supported by SGI ?
What a pity.
The people from nexternet do not even talk about non M$Windows systems.
I expected more from a company, who claims to work with Unix Servers.
Couldn't they find someone, who is competent enough to type "make" under
Solaris, AIX, Linux.... ?
BTW: Is this the ulimate death to all buisness plans to the more important
cosmoworlds ?
so long
