Doubt it. Dennis Nilsen (note spelling) was never a member of the
Socialist Workers Party. He did go to several meetings of the SWP's
predecessor, the International Socialists, in 1974-5 but never joined.
(Source: Killing For Company (Masters), p. 87)

Nilsen applied for a job at the Opposition Whips' Office, House of
Commons, but was refused in a one sentence reply (ibid., p. 102).

There's no need to use emotive but incorrect arguments against the
SWP. The usual ones work just fine.

Probably a different Dennis Nilson? He could not have been a member
of the SWP but he was described as a "Social Worker", I assume a
semi-literate Sun reader might make a mistake.

I do not hold a brief for the SWP but even if one of their members was
a murderer - there have been plenty of murderers and rapists of all
political persuasions. Even Mr Lane's BNP is not completely immune
..

He wasn't a social worker. He was an Administrative Officer in the Civil
Service, working at a Jobcentre. His occupation is normally rendered as
Civil Servant.
