Did a migration from SBS 2000 to SBS 2003 yesterday. Did not have your new
Migrating white paper to review prior to and forgot to remove the SBS 2000
client shared fax service on all client Pcs. On one Win2KPRO client that had
some Adware infections (cleaned them out today), I could not install SBS
client apps. Now, upon loging in it produces Client Setup dialog box Error
stating that it could not remove the special migration account. Where is
this file or settings so I can remove this error message form the client?
Also I'm not sure if the new 2003 shared fax service installed properly. Are
there any special procedures I can perform now. I already ran depromo on the
old SBS 2000 server.

On the client machine, you can go to the compmgmt.msc and then in the list
of users, remove the account with the name sbs netsetup. To get apps back
on the box, you can reassign the applications back to the client machine and
they should get installed and configured if they weren't previously.
