I'm using Outlook 2K and a great dependancy on
the 'Activities' tab within Contacts.
However, a few days ago instead of opening when I clicked
on it - I got the following error message:
"Outlook cannot display this view. A folder by this name
already exists"
Any ideas of how to sort this problem please - very urgent
Could you please e-mail me at my hotmail address.
Many thanks to anyone who can help.

Try resetting the activities groups in the properties dialog for the Cotnacts folder.

Thanks for the help Sue - unfortunately it made no
difference. Have tried restting twice, but still get the
same error message. Any other ideas?

No more ideas, but it would be interesting to know if this occurs for all activities groups or just one in particular.

Thanks Sue

This error message has appeared intermittently over a long
period - years - but in the past I used to keep daily
backups of the PST file. Restoring solved the problem.

Of course, this time, it has been backed up with the
error, so restoration won't solve the problem.

Interesingly, when it last happened, I just carried on
working and then, magically about a month later - the
error message stopped popping up when I selected the
Activities tab.

I've searched the MSKB using the complete error message -
and nothing.

By the way - the message appears in all of my Contacts
groups/Folders.

Any ideas for other places to look for help please Sue?

Thanks
John
