I'm running Windows XP Professional, and when I use the Send Fax Wizard to
send a fax, everything works fine, except that I cannot locate the sent fax
in the Fax Console. There is an OutboxLOG.txt file in the ActivityLog
subdirectory listing all of the sent faxes, but the SentItems subdirectory
remains empty and nothing appears in the Fax Console. Where have I gone
wrong? Thanks.

When you look at Tools > Fax Printer status..., what do you see?

I have exactly the same problem. The Inbox, Outbox, and Sent Items
are always empty in the Fax Console. Yet I can go to
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows
NT\MSFax
and see the actual folders AND the faxes, correctly sent and received.

What the heck is UP ?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled and the result is the same.

Sorry Russ,

When I go to Tools | Fax Printer Status
I get- Fax printer: (X)Local Status: Connection error

Yet I do complete sending and receiving faxes.

Any help is appreciated.

Hmmmm..... a bit testy, Russ said
"Perhaps if you answered my question, I could help".
I then answered Russ's question....

What do you say Russ, any solutions ?

Indeed. I posted the solution immediately after you gave me the information
I needed. If you don't see it, you are having problems with the newsgroup.
Reset it.

Russ,

I honestly do not think an answer was posted to this thread. I'm
reading the newsgroup through the browser so it is not a case of my
newsreader not properly downloading it, so needing to be reset.

May I kindly as you to re-post the resolution to this thread or better
yet, send it directly to my email. I'm not trying to win a verbal arm
wrestle here, I'm trying to resolve a problem that is lingering and I
have not been able to resolve.

Thanks in advance for your expertise.

Well, I guess the truth is that nobody really knows the answer
regarding this problem here. Answers were hinted at.... but none were
forth-coming.

I guess that's why its called a "problem" !

I have posted the answer twice now.
If you still do not see it, use the newsgroup, not the web interface.

Sir. I have posted the answer twice now. If you still do
not see it, try the newsgroup instead of the web
interface.

My God Russ, I'm sorry.

Let me take a moment and explain... I came upon this "list" via Google using
my browser. Entry to this list was through a list of lists called "Google
Lists". So I understood this to mean that all of them were lists managed by
Google and readable only through the browser.

Finally I saw the header and your insistence to use a news reader and I
realized that this was in fact not a Google list at all but a real nntp
newsgroup by MS. I had missed both your solutions because in the Goggle
format, with your attachment and text post, were never displayed.

Please take this explanation for the truth it is, and my apologies for
frustration that you were not in any way to blame for. Of course I'm
completely familiar with long use of newsgroups, and I will stay far and
clear of Google's re-display of the list in its partial and ineffective
form.

I have your solution, I've printed it, and I will use it later this morning.

Thank you again for your timely and freely offered help.

-Ric
