Here my last results running various versions of AutoCAD :

1) - AutoCAD R14 (MDT 2.0)

After latest patches (already present in last wine release),
autocad r14 works quite good without a native windows.
I didn't make extensive tests, but all seems be good, besides
following 2 points :
a)-help (as I stated in a previous post), because of lacking
of support of win95 and later help files of builtin winhelp
This should be a bit better with latest patches of winhelp
in CVS version of wine.
b)-Cut and paste hangs autocad. Dunno yet why, but I'll work
on it later on
c)-Not tested printing, I'll do on next days too.

2) - AutoCAD 2000 (MDT 4.0)

Not working in current release of wine
With a little hack I made (1 line of code), and setting
windows version to 'win95' it DOES become usable; I got it
to run yesterday, so not well tested.
It comes up, allows drawing, opening and saving without
problems, but crashed when trying to draw some 3d elements
or opening a dwg with 3d objects in it.
I think it'll be not a big problem to fix it, so stay tuned ! :)

If someone is interested in the one-line patch, ask me... But it's
really a dirty hack, so better wait a bit more, I'll try to find
the real problem and fix it !

Regards

Max

Start the Help File in a separate process and it should work. However using
the winhelp() API call doesn't work at the moment. Some hacks float around
to allow that.
