Hi All,

In this post I would like to address another little secret that
the Cof$ probably wouldnt like you to know.

Have you ever heard the phrase, "Don't believe everything you
read or hear?" Well, that is probably very good advice, as what I'm
going to tell you will help you find that good advice.

Now the best way to know things are to check them out for
yourself. But, what if the only information you have has been modified
behind the scenes? How could you know that it wasnt true? That is a
tough one. One that you will have to find an answer to yourself. To
illustrate this here is my point:

In 1987-88 LRH's 'Mission Earth' Dekology was being released. I
got hooked on them as truly enjoyed the story. I had been into science
fiction and never read a dekaology before (dekology=10 volumes). After
about the 4th book I had to start 'waiting' for the next volume as they
were not released yet. My friends and I used to alway go to the
bookstore on the weekend to check if the next book was out yet. They
were being released about one every month. Time passed, life lived,
etc. One day I was in my _fiendly_ _neighborhood_ church and what did I
see but a bag with about 6 Mission Earth volume #8's in them. I asked
the person who's desk it was on why he had *6* books. Was he giving them
away in some contest that the church came up with to get more
production? *no*... Were they for friends that asked him to pick them
up? *no*... Well, why did he have *6* copies of the same books?
umm...*cough*....ummm.... Ok, ok, he was told by _upper-managerment_ to
go and buy these books so that it would *for sure* be a Bestseller! They
had this idea of LRH being a best seller over and over and so he would
have more *credibility* or some sh*t like that. It made me sick! I
never really voiced this to anyone and could tell that those involved did
not think it right either.

This is probably why I can't stand that d*ck who gets up near the
end of each 'event' and PR's LRH to death. I just wonder how much of
those awards were _asked_ _for_ & _solicited_ by the Cof$ themselves.
Makes me also wonder if any of their public stats are correct or if they
'PUMPed...THEM up' to quote Hans&Franz of Saturday Night Live. Makes me
wonder if there were really 12 million DMSMH's bought by individuals or if
they were mass purchased out of bookstores and the next week shipped right
back out from Bridge back to the bookstores as 'new' books. At the events
they would always bring up 'publishers weekly' or something like that.
Cof$ or LRH would sometimes be on the cover. Upper Management at the
events would *brag* about how Mission Earth was always on the bestsellers
lists, etc. I knew they were false stats and the claims hollow and it
made me sick to see my friends clap and believe in it.

So there is one of my tales of what I have observed and why
sometimes it may seem that the Cof$ is telling the truth about something
except usually if not always they are playing the game behind the game.
Sometimes good, most times bad.

Shape up Cof$ or you will be but a negative memory to be audited
out of the 4th dynamic.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

-Seeker of Truth [KoX, x-FOP$, FoY, DB, J&D, FZ, CLEAR]

My sister used to work for Waldenbooks in Chicago. She told me that
they'd get boxes of "new" books from Bridge Publications that were
*previously sold*. They had some kind of mark in them that indicated
their previous sale, and they had all been sold at the same time.

She said it was obvious that they had the books purchased, then sent back &
repackaged, to bump up the sales stats so they would qualify for the
best-seller list...the stats probably indicate greater sales than the
actual print run...

such insecurity...

As I've written previously in this newsgroup, I saw *cartons* of
brand-new-looking CoS books at a local used book sale. I was told they were
donated to the sale. Anyone care to make a wager as to whether any freebies
get thrown into their (CoS) stats, too?

Often people are "regged" to use remaining advance payments to buy lots of
Dianetics books for donations to libraries, old folks homes, maternity wards,
etc. Thus, these were counted because someone paid for them.
