Hey everyone, I'm hoping you might be able to help me on this, since
Compaq really isn't... Anyway, I have a Compaq Presario 12XL300 and I
want to upgrade the CPU. I want to put in a 1.2 gHz Celeron, but it
runs at a 100 mHz bus speed, and my laptop runs at 66 mHz. However,
it says the motherboard supports up to 133mHz bus speed. How do I go
about changing the bus speed?! I cant in BIOS because it sucks in
laptops. It doesnt do anything advanced... Can I upgrade the BIOS as
well? I cant thru Compaq.com becuase they dont have anything... any
help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

You couldn't install a 1.2 GHz anyway. Those are Tualatin processors. 1.1GHz
is tops. The Board will autoselect the correct bus speed.
No, the Compaq BIOS must be used. FYI, I have that laptop, too.
